When we think of fighters that never one the belt but had amazing fights against former champs and legends Jardine must be mentioned. Not only because he continued giving back to mma but because he actually filled the perfect role of journeyman for his era. Was Keith Jardine in the close running for greatest journeyman. My memory has him still at top 3

Greatest Journeymen of all time would be a fun list. But what qualifies as Journeyman? Never cracking the top 5?

Of the current crop I like Vincente Luque.
Also Jim Miller must be GJOAT right?

Ed Herman comes to mind too

He definitely wouldn’t make my top 10 contenders list but as a fighter who fought not only former champs and contenders but also any up and comer I have him top 5

A journeymen ranking doesn't make any sense.
A fighter who never won gold but fought a royalty list and was never one to shy away from being used to fight up and coners Jardine is in the tops. I’m sorry the word journeyman alludes you

I wouldn't consider him a journeyman. Journeyman usually have no career path and just fight any promotion just for the hell of it.

Someone like Tony Lopez or Jeremy Horn is what most would consider a journeyman. Most UFC guys aren't going to be considered journeyman.

Jardine seemed to beat most of the prelim level UFC guys but lost most of the time to main card level guys so he's closer to a gatekeeper than a journeyman (not necessarily saying he's either)

I mean, viking did sail to quite a bit to explore. Lotsa journeys for them for sure.

Just two off the top of my head at LW

JIM MILLER with wins over:
Cerrone (sub)
Guida (sub)
Thiago Alves (UD)
Lauzon X2
Gomi (TKO)
Guillard (sub)
Charles Oliviera (sub)
Tibau (UD)

MICHAEL JOHNSON with wins over:
Poirier (KO)
Barboza (UD)
Guillard (UD)
Tibau (KO)
Lauzon (UD)
Prime Tony (UD)

I bet there's plenty more guys that have an amazing resume without ever getting top 5 status or a title shot.

Of course it ultimately depends on your definition of "journeyman" though. I would list the above more as "GGOAT" for gatekeepers

Sardine was always entertaining…

Loved that he wrecked that clown Forrest into an exorcism.

He got insanely arrogant after the Chuck win, was being all condescending to Wanderlei Silva at the glove touch. As a Pride disciple I was deeply offended by that sacrilege, and it was wonderful to see the result.
