Cung started MMA late in life. By the time he lost his first fight (a year after defeating Frank Shamrock) he was 37 years old. He was a powerful striker. Fucked up Frank pretty bad if I remember correctly. If he started MMA in his early 20's his record would have been much more impressive IMO.

I rate Cyborg, Ronda, Holly, GDR, Meisha and Valentina TWICE a lot higher than:

All of those women are legends in thier divisions and other sports. With the exception of 2 very close fights with Val, Amanda DEMOLISHED them when it counted. She didnt get sent to the Morgue by a 5'3 journeyman lw like Georges did.

Anyone remember that? It was around the 2008-2010 years when Cung was in sf. A lot of people thought cung seriously had a chance. His Sanshao background was amazing and this was a real.legit lifelong martial artist which I think.added so much to his mystique.
Looking back I don't know how anyone would.still think he had any chance if that fight actually happened but I do remember how that was tossed around here.

Cung Le is super entertaining to watch fight. I would have loved to of seen the fight. I might be in one of those old threads.

The crazy thing is Cung helped Frank Shamrock prepare for his fight with Tito back in like 1997. And Cung had a college wrestling background. If he'd started MMA in the 90s (with a San Shoo and wrestling background), he could've been a real force.
