He's got all the indicators of a future star if he keeps winning. But I'm concerned that he might be too hot of a prospect for WME's liking, and that they'll give him the Khamzat treatment as a result. We are already seeing it with Brady "pulling out" of UFC 290.

Anyone else feel the same way?

What do you mean by Khazmat treatment? If he can beat and more importantly stop a guy like Brady he definetly deserves a top 5 then a title shot. 4 first round finishes against increasingly better opponents and showing solid wrestling makes him a solid solid new hope.

We're good to go unless JDM contracts a terminal illness as well.

I'm worried about Jack because he trains out of a whole in the wall gym with no wrestling coach and all of his teammates are low level regional level Australian pros and amateurs. And Jack said "he'd consider spending camp at a bigger gym if he felt a need to, which will probably happen in the future". Just seems like he might get railed by the first good wrestler he faces and then the reality is he spent years stunting his development by not branching out to get different looks.

Hope I'm wrong, he's clearly a great talent. Tons of great replacements for Brady, you got Buckley, Holland, maybe Rinat after tonight?

You're out of your mind

Ufc will promote exciting fighters. JDM had been kicking ass and finishing fights. A nice dude too. Why would WME try to sabotage him??? Nobody wins there

Let him knock out Randy Brown again that was funny huehuehuehuehuehuehue

Khazmat doesn't fight he fights maybe once a year . JDD Is down for whatever n is a really fun fighter.

I dunno much about his gym nor his coaches but he would be stupid to not think about joining Volk's team, he has access to the likes of Craig Jones, all of CKB, the Hickman brothers for wrestling etc seems like a no brainer.

That said he has passed everyone with flying colours so far, until we see a glaring weakness in his game I guess he just keeps doing what he is doing.

My opinion is similar to this. Except I think you gotta get ahead of everyone to stay ahead. He should be working with either Volks team or Whittakers.

Why do people think that the UFC is holding down Khamzat? What would be the reasoning behind that? We already know that they are only about making as much money as possible. So, yeah it makes sense that they would be holding back one of their top prospects and most popular fighters. I don't know what his deal is, but I see no way that he's being held back. That's ridiculous.

What is the Khamzat treatment exactly? Building a whole PPV around a matchup specifically designed to put you over into superstar status? I feel so worried and bad for JDM if it goes that way lmaoo

Perth is a long way from NSW (where whit and volk fight from).
I agree he should do it, but it's a bigger move than you might think if you just consider "they're all in Australia"
About the same distance from NY to LA I'd guess

Hes got the money now and it's just a direct, domestic flight. Kind of crazy that he hasn't been spending a month or two for camps at one of those gyms to me for the last couple of fights. But I know Perth is out there, didn't know it was quite that far.

he's gonna be on the bench for too long and get cooked by a striker

Yeh man i do agree. You can go gym to gym in 6-8 hours for a few hundred bucks and it's only two hours time zone so no real reason not to.
I think culturally he'd be a good fit for Volks freestyle gym as well

They somehow have it in their head that the UFC loses money on stars. Ridiculous I know

Belal had 2 top 5 wins (Luque, Wonderboy) and a top 10 win (Maia) before he beat an undefeated Brady and then still had to go through Gilbert (another top 5) and STILL may not get the next TS.

Not everyone gets the Colby treatment where all you have to do is keep losing to the champ to get another title shot. If JDM has to go the Leon route (undefeated for 6.5 years in UFC) or the Belal route (3 top 5 wins + 2 top 10 wins) then he's unfortunately not remotely as close as you think.

Khamzat isn't fighting in all likelihood because of legal issues in Sweden, it isn't some conspiracy by WME to make less money like OP constantly suggests in every post he's ever made. Khamzat has no one but himself, Majdi Shammas, and Reza Maddadi to blame for not fighting

I've read the post twice and still don't get what you're trying to insinuate. Weird comparison.
