Thing is you can't really know any of these people from their public persona. Lots of people had that edgy persona and never had stuff like that come out about them. I grew up a fan of Manson, tool, NIN etc. The allegations against Manson suck, because he comes off as such an intelligent and levelheaded guy in interviews.
Not really how that usually plays out. For one thing abusers tend to seek out people with self esteem and other emotional problems that are easier to control and manipulate. And they look to isolate victims from their friends and family, or pursue people already living an isolated lifestyle.
