I'm pretty tired about hearing about race

Yeah I think he just misspoke.

I think what he's trying to say is this-- and I say this because this is true of me.

Every time someone accuses me of being a racist, I care less and less whether I'm being perceived as racist. I'm not a racist. I'm white. That doesn't make me a racist. But everything I do is brought into analysis under the assumption that it must be racist, so of course they'll read racism into whatever I say or do.

And when people try to defend themselves, they get even nastier. "I'm not racist."

"OMFG I can't even, how blind can you be you fucking CIS White male".

So I just don't care. I criticize stupid decisions, culture, clothes and people. And if someone says I'm a racist, I don't care. The word has lost almost all meaning anyway.

Under what circumstances do you find yourself being called a racist?

One way or another, I'm tired of it.

I'm tired of it as a way for white progressives to sprinkle meaning and importance into their writing/art without having to say anything.

I'm tired of seeing it brought up as a lens through which to critique society.

I'm tired of people using it to justify this action, explain that action, or anything of that nature.

I accept, as pretty much obvious, that systemic racism exists. But I would hazard to guess that thinking "racially" is a poison.

I'm brown.

I learned in adulthood, that my ethnicity doesn't really define me, and it only goes so far in describing how I relate to the world, wish to relate to the world, and strive to exist in the world.

"Fuck your ethnicity"
Maybe in 500 years when we’re all grey from race mixing it’ll stop.

The left is obsessed with race. Yet they say race shouldn't matter.

Not true. They clearly say that it should matter -- in precisely the way that they say it should matter.

It's only whacko centrists like me that say race shouldn't matter. Considering that I work with people from 5 different countries I think that's a good policy. If we spend all day thinking about each other's race, we'll never get any work done.

Outside of mainstream political news, who actually talks about race?

But don't you want to know what David Hume said about race?

It used to be the job of the "left", to remove artificial barriers rather than constructing them.

Nowadays they're not really fulfilling their own end of the bargain.
