Yeah I think he just misspoke.
I think what he's trying to say is this-- and I say this because this is true of me.
Every time someone accuses me of being a racist, I care less and less whether I'm being perceived as racist. I'm not a racist. I'm white. That doesn't make me a racist. But everything I do is brought into analysis under the assumption that it must be racist, so of course they'll read racism into whatever I say or do.
And when people try to defend themselves, they get even nastier. "I'm not racist."
"OMFG I can't even, how blind can you be you fucking CIS White male".
So I just don't care. I criticize stupid decisions, culture, clothes and people. And if someone says I'm a racist, I don't care. The word has lost almost all meaning anyway.
