I'm pretty tired about hearing about race

if the left don't stop with this identity politics bullshit, all whites are racist etc, they'll find in 20 years time whites will be racist. Its a self fulfilling prophecy just waiting to happen.

Quite the contrary. Stereotypes are always based on some truths and the fact is that a larger proportion of whites were racist in the the past than they are now and it is because more people are calling out white's racism that allows predominantly white societies to reflect and tackle the issue.

But it is obvious that not all whites are racist and not all racists display the same deplorable level of racism, and stereotyping all whites as racist only serves to create unnecessary resentment towards whites in general.

Then simply behold.

ps: @chubbman your AV's perfect for this...

Sick of hearing about race? Aren’t we all. Now check your privilege

I accept, as pretty much obvious, that systemic racism exists. But I would hazard to guess that thinking "racially" is a poison.
That's a great point. Even if its true that systemic racism exists(I certainly think it does), dwelling on that fact can't be good for one's psyche and it must, at some point, also lead to false positives when it comes to identifying instances of systemic racism irl.

For some reason I thought of Ace of Base instead of race after reading the OP. Thanks TS.

Probably best not to get tired yet.
It's been this way all through my life and will be through the next several generations at least

One of Sweden's most prominent professors (Bo Rothstein) wrote an opinion piece today about that his university has formed a network called "White Critique" that operates under the notion of systemic racism and white privilege. As a Jew, he wrote that Jews only make up 3% of the American population but 20% of the professors at the finest universities, 37% of those that have received "National Medal for Science", 25% of the Nobel laureates in literature and 40% of Nobel laureates in the scientific disciplines. He made fun of the grievance studies and said that they should change the name of "White critique" to "Jew critique".

His main point was with grievance studies was that if you accept that world view, it basically defines every white person as person that has obtained a position of power and privilege due to theft and oppression. If that model of thought takes root, then his university is no longer a university because a university should be about what you do, not about who you are or which group you belong to.

One way or another, I'm tired of it.

I'm tired of it as a way for white progressives to sprinkle meaning and importance into their writing/art without having to say anything.

I'm tired of seeing it brought up as a lens through which to critique society.

I'm tired of people using it to justify this action, explain that action, or anything of that nature.

I accept, as pretty much obvious, that systemic racism exists. But I would hazard to guess that thinking "racially" is a poison.

I'm brown.

I learned in adulthood, that my ethnicity doesn't really define me, and it only goes so far in describing how I relate to the world, wish to relate to the world, and strive to exist in the world.

"Fuck your ethnicity"
Judge the person by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.

Also, this PC/social justice has been pushed too far. You've got these white liberals saying everything is racist today. And the problem with that is that people can't be real anymore, they're too worried that they might say something "racist" that's not even really racist. It's a shame.

Morgan Freeman agrees.

Re. bolded
You are tired about it but only tired about hearing what the left says about, not what the right says about it, evident from your OP.

There is only one race. The human race.

We desperately need to land people on Mars. It would be a unifying achievement that would unite us as a species.

One way or another, I'm tired of it.

I found that if you stop watching/reading the news and stay off of the major social media sites that about 90% of it disappears...would be another 5% if I stayed out of the War Room.

Or give us yet another facet to an already fractured human identity.

Race is played out as fuck.

We need a common enemy.

Think season 10 of the x-files was a form of predictive programming...

But it is obvious that not all whites are racist and not all racists display the same deplorable level of racism, and stereotyping all whites as racist only serves to create unnecessary resentment towards whites in general.

The above statement is 100% true. It's also applicable to pretty much every racial group and X negative stereotype.

In another thread, I said one of the most interesting developments of the last few years, is the association of "white" with specific negative stereotypes, very similar to how "black" has been associated with a different set of negative stereotypes and unnecessary resentment as a result. And, also, how white America has responded to combating those associations in a manner similar to how black Americans have fought against their associations for decades.

It's an outgrowth of the American population becoming more diverse. As non-white groups make up a larger percentage of the population, their collective negative impressions of white America, valid or invalid, gain a traction that would not have occurred if the non-white population was much smaller.

Essentially, "white" is transforming from being the core definition of American, above the issues facing identity groups, into being just one of many identity groups and thus dealing with the same mischaracterizations that the other identity groups have long wrestled with.

I'm not a social scientist but if I was I'd find the whole thing well worth studying in great depth. The most relevant question worth asking is "Long term, does this eventually balance the nation positively or fragment it irreversibly?" I'm leaning towards balance but there are strong arguments for fragmentation, especially in the short term.

The difference between the behaviour of "whites" and "non-whites" is that it is the "whites" that are responsible for applying most of the negative stereotypes towards other whites.

While there were certainly some black people who went along and behaved towards other blacks in a racist manner (largely being pressured into doing so, by the white majority), they were never the primary cause behind it. In the case of whites, it is not latinos or blacks or Asians, for the most part, mischaracterizing the "white" identity group, it is the white people themselves.
