Calling it now. Dustin has said he wants his retirement fight to be a big name this summer. Ilia has said he would want to fight Dustin recently. Dustin had a competitive fight with Islam, if Ilia wipes Dustin out then it’ll be an open and shut case to give him the title shot. Islam also won’t be inclined to fight ilia unless he earns credibility at LW.

Thats the fight i mentioned they should make in another thread, its a perfect striking matchup, name value on both sides, decent test for Topuria imho.

They will probably make the Islam M. fight tho.

Arman vs Ilia is preferable but UFC will probably do Dustin vs Ilia to show respect to dustin after a great career, it's the perfect fight to retire on considering Ilia is like #3 p4p and knocked out 2 legends in his last fight

i don't think it makes sense. Ilia gave up a belt to go be someone's retirement fight? And it isn't even a #1 contender fight like if he fought arman or charles.

Not crazy about it. Dustin is on his way out and is too dangerous to put against a guy like Ilia. Either Dustin goes out like Shogun and we all get sad or Ilia's stock is tanked at 155 because he got flatlined by a retiree.

Topuria´s stock will tank if he loses against anyone, it will just prove he doesnt belong at 155lbs and shouldnt have vacated the 145lbs belt.

I wouldnt mind watching him fight Oliveira, not sold on Arman as that fight might get boring and he potentially loses, i mean, i wouldnt pick him to beat either of them...might surprise me of course, he is legit, but he is on the smaller end for the division and tends to be losing until he wins.

Horrible matchmaking and the exact opposite of what a promoter would want lol

Ilia said last week he'd love to fight Dustin. He wants big names, i honestly think ilia is less interested in belts and more interested in huge fights with big names so that he can build his brand. Dustin is about as big a name as you can get.

When Pimtbletch beats Chandler, that perfectly sets up Ilia vs Chandler for the nr 1 contender spot.

To be accurate, he said legends only, not big names. I'm don't believe Ilia qualifies as a legend, yet.

I'm cool with anyone in the top 10 that isn't Dustin. If it wasn't Dustin's retirement fight, I'd be down.

I think it's the best matchup for Topuria and is a lay up to a LW title shot, but given that he let go of his FW title, he probably gets an instant shot against Islam. If they rebook Arman with Islam, this is the perfect fight.

No no. I don't want to see Dustin get the shit beat out of him for his final fight.

I pray that UFC brings back Nate Diaz so he can fight Dustin.
