Unless volk comes in with his wrestling shoes on, and never lets any action in the pocket happen through constant take downs, and clinching. I don't see how he's going to best the younger, faster, harder hitting boxer. He needs the fight to be completely out at kicking range, or all the way in at all times. If he can impose heavy clinch, and top work game. Maybe he can tire out Topuria enough. But if he's coming in and trading blows in the pocket i think he loses by stoppage again as Ilia will eventually land something heavy enough to stun Alex's aging chin.

Ain't no reason whatsoever for volk to be getting a rematch. 2 back to back brutal knock outs one being against topuria, which that fight wasn't even close. UFC really ducking over these divisions by Wall n stalling with these rematches. Volk want ever deserving of a rematch let alone another title shot. UFC really is be a fookin joke at this point.

They better go ahead and book Jon Jones vs Randy for the next hw title. Have Kevin randleman on the phone for the backup.

I like Volk the man, but a year late, also twice stiffened in a year window doest get me desire enough to watch this hematch live (as a PPV). Volk is an ATG little guy, that being said he has slim a chance with zero margin of error.

Dumb matchmaking. Why force everyone to see Volk brutally KO’d again in another non-competitive fight? Ilia flatlines Volk 10/10 times. There are interesting fights for Ilia with Evloev and Diego.

Like I said before, Volk needs to be careful or he’s gonna be joining Tony on an 8 fight losing streak in the Grandpas and F’ing Losers league.

Because he's 11-1 in the FW div
He had 5 FW title defenses


If that doesnt earn you rematch then wtf does? he stepped up and fought P4P best fighter in the world and tried to be a double champ, did so on short notice to save a card the second time.

Guy loses 1 fight at 145 pounds in 7 years and now he's just thrown away.

Whether anyone likes it or not Izzy, Usman, Val, Volk, these fighters deserved to get rematches when they lost. Alex and Islam would too if they lose. Jon Jones would if he lost.

Volk fan here. A close or controversial loss earns you the immediate rematch. Could even argue that a close loss is still a legitimate loss, and doesn't warrant an immediate rematch.

I actually think UFC wouldnt be giving Volk the shot if they thought he was any sort of threat to Topuria. Why risk their new and young cash cow?
