Dude he's like 2 inches shorter then the average height LW. LW is weirdly clustered where almost every single fighter is 5'9-5'11

But size does matter and he doesn't have a great reach.

Arman and Islam are the only guys I think Paddy has trouble with. Actually maybe a tossup with Max or Gamrot. But I feel like UFC is going to throw Paddy to Olivera/Gaethje/Hooker and he could win those fights.

Yes and no. Volka just came back from a KO, is getting on in years. Holloway the best is gone too, is not in his prime anymore. I want to see Topuria in his prime against fighters in their prime. like Arman

He was knocked out standing in his last LW fight so I am not sure the chin is as solid as people think and I am surprised more people don't want him fighting another LW first before Islam as betting will be difficult at first. If you go by the video, there is no guarantee he will run through LW like he did in FW and I would love to see him first fight Hooker, Paddy, Gamrot, Arnold even Raphael before Islam or Arman. Not fighting is a tactic and I am surprised the UFC is allowing it to happen after leaving the division with only one defense and a borderline loss at LW. (It was Herbert's first UFC fight, the guy was clueless and green and did not know how to seal the deal once Ilia was hurt. )

And he's going all-in. Aim for the moon or overestimation? We'll see.

If he fights Islam, as it seems, and lose not a-la-Volk #1... he'd be behind Arman, Charles and Gaethje and suddenly in need of (at least) a dominant win to be around the top 5.

And losing to Islam either via finish or a UD not being close is the most probable outcome. Even if Ilia fights very well and shows he belongs.

Charles is just so much bigger than Top and apparently hits very hard according to gaethje and others. We have seen illia put on skates by Jai Herbert wouldn't be surprised if Charles did the same. Of course Charles is hittable and his chin isn't iron either. Feels like a coin flip fight

Topuria would beat gaethje badly imo.

Paddy would be interesting he's massive and a strong grappler who's improved a fuck ton. Still give Top the advantage.

Islam would be an obvious favorite due to size, grappling, and being able to hold his own striking.

I probably favor him slightly over Arman. Arman is bigger but won't have a massive reach advantage with way charles would. Don't think he presents a big danger on the feet and I don't trust his cardio if he has to rely extensively on his grappling for 25 minutes

Jumping a division and being (IMO) a favorite over everyone minus the champ, #1 and #2 doesn't sound bad to me.

It doesn't unless you could have been the dominant champ in your old division
