If you're Anthony Smith what is your gameplan?

Swing haymakers for early KO.

Ball up in turtle position when it doesn't work.

Get paid.

Pull out after weigh ins, when the reality hits home. the reality is not real to him yet because its too far away, when its close to the time he'll pull out I say.

My thoughts exactly..except i believe he cant let jones lead the exchanges..even at mid range he needs to be firing first or at the same time with jones..

D.C showed if you trade with jones hes hittable and with smiths power i can see him connecting hard enough to drop jones..the combo he used on shogun could work well against jones ..if he can cut off the cage using angles and dont chase jones like gus did that was gus's mistake the in the second fight..he just trudge forward chasing jones taking alot of kicking damage and when he started to adjust to the kicks jones took him down..Smith has to fight smart and powerful..

Jones has alot of tools and physical advantages at his disposal but Smith is dangerous..anyone doubting this could be left surprised after the fight

This sounds like the same game plan that people said Glover would use given his superior boxing - then Jones beat him down in a phone booth.

Smith’s only chance is a lucky punch - I suspect he knows that as well as the rest of us do. Given that, Jones will likely just take him down and elbow his face into shreds.

I like Smith but this isn’t close to a fair fight, skill-wise... I hope he is getting paid big here.

Get out there and poke that fucking eye first!

You must establish dominance there immediately.

After that you have to eat JJ’s jabs and stomp kicks and find your overhands quickly.

Glover is not the same as smith and glover fought too close to jones..

Bull rushing Jones could be the only way here but could also backfire very quickly which means Jones stopping you early via GnP.

Aside from that Jones is heavy favourite in this fight

This. Chael exposed Jon but no one has followed the blueprint he laid out for beating Jones.
You're joking and most people think it was a fluke injury but it was Chael's force that moved Jon backwards causing him to dig his toes hard into the mat and one of them broke. Credit to Chael's wrestling.

same as it always is. be durable and smart. and dont throw anything half assed.

Anthony Smith is a fighter that trained in the beginning at Ryan Jensen’s Premier Combat in Omaha. Jenson was a UFC fiighter, as all of you know. For those of you who follow MMA, Abe Wagner still shows up there once in a while. Anthony was a pretty uncool dude and was asked not to come back there. Ever. Funny though, the UFC never lets you in on the real back story.
I think they'll change their mind if he knocks out Jones

Pressure early.
Move forward and throw first.
A lot of Jones opponents just stand there at jones' range eating oblique kicks

I think the only way Smith beats Jones is if he bull rushes him and throws his best in Round 1. We've seen Jones struggle under early pressure before in vs Gustafson 1 where Gus busted him open and easily won the first round and could have potentially finished the fight if he was more aggressive in his striking. Jones also may have a suspect chin (avoiding HW) and he hasn't really been hit hard. Smith has the size, length and reach to do this. The only way he can win is by first round K.O. He can't be tactical, timid or try to outsmart Jones over the course of 5 rounds, no one can. His only shot is by a recklessly stupid flurry of hard punches that finish him or seriously hurt him.
Wrong, only way is to go the Matt Hamill route

Take him down.

Smith needs to come out tentative for about 30 seconds and appear to be intimidated by JBJ. When Jones moves in, Smith needs to stand in the pocket and unload with everything he's got...and hope for the best. Perhaps he can lull Jones into a bad position.

I think Jon has a good chin. He took some heavy shots going backwards off Dc
