high paced pressure and stay within boxing range the entire time, not anything closer and never in kicking range or anything farther than that.
but dont overextend, risking and missing and entering the clinch or getting shot on.
he'll need very good footwork to maintain this midrange however.
If Smith can force a midrange fight without getting taken down, then it is essentially a boxing match with Jones backing up. Jones will either want to back up or move forward from midrange because that's Jones weakest area because his boxing is garbage. If he goes forward, that multiplies the force of Smiths punches if theyre accurate, this is why I think Jones will back up to get it back to kicking range.
Gus wasnt able to do it, but I think thats because Gus actually wanted a long range fight for some reason.
If Lionheart lives up to his nickname, I think he'll have the balls to follow this gameplan.
My thoughts exactly..except i believe he cant let jones lead the exchanges..even at mid range he needs to be firing first or at the same time with jones..
D.C showed if you trade with jones hes hittable and with smiths power i can see him connecting hard enough to drop jones..the combo he used on shogun could work well against jones ..if he can cut off the cage using angles and dont chase jones like gus did that was gus's mistake the in the second fight..he just trudge forward chasing jones taking alot of kicking damage and when he started to adjust to the kicks jones took him down..Smith has to fight smart and powerful..
Jones has alot of tools and physical advantages at his disposal but Smith is dangerous..anyone doubting this could be left surprised after the fight
