If Weidman destroys Rockhold will that finally silence the doubters?

Anyone who doubted Weidman after he shut down and knocked the GOAT out in his tenth fight

...in his tenth fight

...in his tenth fight

and actually bought the line the UFC was pushing (that Anderson wasn't trying) to justify and promote the second fight may not be worth listening to. I don't argue as much any more because it's like shoveling shit to the wind with all of the dumb people on sherdog. I just make a mental note and think, "really? He had to defend his belt twice for you to believe in him? Let me update my dumbass list real quick."

When and where did I say it wasn't? Fucking Sherdog.

His win is legit, and i gave him full credit for it. I'm just saying, if they fought again, it would not go the same way. You're out of your fucking mind if you think it would. I'm not saying Lyoto would win, I'd still take Luke, but lots of luck made it look as impressive as it was.

Not saying it wasn't luck because I really don't remember the sequence but when Luke got him down, Lyoto had absolutely no answer for him.

I was pretty shocked, to be honest.

See there you go again. There was no luck involved in the Luke vs Machida fight. Luke beat him by being able to hold Machida down and ground n pound. It was all skill and something that the Chris was NOT able to do.

I don't know man, that was pure ownage. Obviously in a rematch things would play out differently, but Rockhold just looked like too much for him no matter how many fights they had. That being said, Weidman should beat him relatively easily......

No it didn't. Lukes win vs Machida was legit.

I'm not a fan of "luck", but I think he was implying he got lucky because Machida kept slipping.

He was getting beat on the feet and IMO wouldn't have been able to take Machida down without Machida tripping. Luke capitalized on a slip and did a good job staying heavy on top and landing hard shots.

The people who still think Weidman is a fluke champ will NEVER think any different.

Word, which is why I said that...

Ok, read my fucking post before you reply. I said that... stop recycling the same shit I said and then try and use it to prove a point you don't have.

Thank you! Was I really that hard to understand?

After Machida, whoever still doubts Weidman is just a hater.
One can make excuses for ANY fighter and any fight.

I am not afraid to say I was still unconvinced after the second Silva fight.
But anyone that can go 5 rounds with Machida and win, the way he did, is a legit guy.
Now he just beat another legend in Vitor.

There's nothing "to prove".

He still needs to convincingly beat Anderson, else he is just a belt warmer until his comeback

typical nut hugger. First fight: R1: Out points him on the feet, takes him down and controls him the entire round. R2 out points him Anderson starts dancing after getting hit then gets KTFO. Fight 2: R1 Anderson gets rocked early in the first and almost finished on the ground. R2 Is getting out pointed on the feet then starts "turning it up" and breaks his leg with a leg kick. Goes on to have a relatively close fight against Diaz on roids. Anderson is never getting his belt back and doesn't deserve it either.

As for the original post Weidman has already proven himself to me, after the second Anderson fight I knew this guy would be champ for a while, hell after the first Anderson fight I knew.

Exactly. I think The Chris' win over Machida is more impressive than Shogun's etc. Anyone can catch anyone, but to best Machida at his own game over a longer period is more impressive IMO. Lyoto (like MM) would one of the few fighters it looks better to win a dec. against.

Yes, I will then submit to the champions alpha and jump on that blandwagon.

There are still people out there that think this?
He smashed Anderson and on top of it, The Spider never posed a single threat for a second of either fight.

Get over it already.

No because the only doubters left are retards who cannot be swayed by any sort of logic.

Nope, hes already done enough to silence the "doubters" but the reason they keep talking is they just can't give him the props hes earned. He knocked out silva, stood with machida, destroyed vitor. But all of it is some variation of luck or beating an easy opponent.

None of those was an easy opponent. Vitor to some extent because he is diminished but that's still a very impressive win. There was no luck in any of it, just some very impressive performances.

Now he could come in and knock out Jones and the haters will just say "Jones looked like he was high, weidman is so damn lucky"

I concede, Wiedman is an absolute beast. Whenever he gets hold of anyone, they're basically fucked. You know he's going to be ULTRA aggressive on the ground, using wrestling, BJJ and good old fashioned strength and brutality to kick the shit out of whoever he's fighting. I was actually surprised how easily he had his way with Vitor, it was like they were in different weight classes.

Rockhold is also a complete beast... I'm interested to see how their fight will go, I can't see either of them losing at the moment.
