If Weidman destroys Rockhold will that finally silence the doubters?

He still needs to convincingly beat Anderson, else he is just a belt warmer until his comeback
 
I would hope so. If he beats Rockhold I don't know what doubt could be left. He could still lose in the future but there's no way you could doubt his skill anymore.
 
LOL! No. I just seen some idiot saying his size is the only reason he wins, and that it's a bigger advantage than Jones' reach. Even though Luke is bigger, it won't stop the stupidly pointless hate.

Getting the better of Lyoto in the standup and finishing Vitor in the first round should be more than enough.

There's still a lot of doubt going around. Chris knows it, and so does Rockhold. Rockhold loves to say that Weidman has only "fought washed up old Brazilians". You know how that goes... Tonight we'll see.
 
It definaty would hurt. He's tough, but I don't think GOAT tough. He really hasnt fought any up and comers. Andy, machida and vitor are all a bit long in the tooth.
But what the hell do I know.

I think Weidman just needs to beat Rockhold and Jacare to start getting the GOAT treatment and recognition as a dominant champ. However, it's certainly reasonable for people to think those two guys could unseat him. But if he does it, only contrarians will be discrediting him or picking an opponent that could have beat him.

Oh shut up. Luke's win has a lot of luck behind it. I'm not taking anything away from Luke, he did his job in keeping Lyoto down while dealing damage, but let's be honest... a lot of luck helped him get it there in the first place.
 
I think Weidman is a bad mofo, but it won't silence the haters. I honestly think Rockhold is an easy fight for Weidman. The only thing that could might be a problem is if the fight goes 5 and Rockhold outcardio's him.......
 
Until he beats Cote and Lutter, he hasn't beaten anyone.

No it didn't. Lukes win vs Machida was legit.
 
Rockhold is extremely overrated here. He is really heavy on top but his TD's suck. He has good striking but his striking defense sucks.

I'll give Weidman credit, the dude is a warrior. His chin is fucking granite and he's all around a solid fighter, I think his striking is a bit slow but he makes up for it with his ability to judge distance very well, along with his power.

He won't look to take Rockhold down as fast as he did with Vitor so the fight will go on longer, but he will be able to take everything Rockhold throws at him.

He finishes Luke within 3.

I think Rockhold is a very dangerous fight for Chris, and does pretty much all the same things well. It might come down to who is tougher, and I think Chris Weidman is the guy. Also worth noting that this will be the 4th Southpaw in a row for Weidman in title matches, and I think that counts for something. At least Luke being a southpaw won't have it's usual potential advantages anyway.

His win is legit, and i gave him full credit for it. I'm just saying, if they fought again, it would not go the same way. You're out of your fucking mind if you think it would. I'm not saying Lyoto would win, I'd still take Luke, but lots of luck made it look as impressive as it was.
