Would the general population care?

There'd probably some alarm/outrage but we'd move on pretty quick.

It'd be a whole different story if it was the NFL, NBA, MLB etc.

Would you care if some cricket team in india disbanded?

There are other orgs out there.

We'd just gravitate towards those.

Huh?

I'd come on here and most certainly see dozens of threads of "was ufc ever really THAT good?"

So basically you're saying that the more popular things are, the more people care about them?

Gen pop wouldn't care. I would.
It's the only sport I follow

At least in the states, the term UFC is more known than MMA, so there would be some confusion if it disappeared.

The general population would move on none the less, while we'd be stuck with Bellator.

If the NFL disappeared, would American Football fans just turn to the CFL or Arena Football?

Casuals would start wondering what happened like 6 months to a year after, MMA fans would just keep watching other organizations, i usually watch Bellator events as well, used to watch SF and WEC too.

I gotta say I watch other orgs. already but it would be a huge loss.

It would change the landscape i think you would have conor put on his own events. It would result in higher fight pay for sure for the top guys

I never understand why people like to put the sport down, nobody ever claimed it was like a major league except for maybe Dana when he was spewing some of his weekly bullshit.

I think it would be awesome because some of the fighters go to Bellator, some to WSOF or whatever, some to Japan/One.
