If Strickland doesn't get the title shot, it will prove that the WME wants MMA to be boring

Strickland is the flavor of the week. Abus is a dangerous opponent but he isn't ranked at all. Strickland has to beat a contender.
 
I think he clearly lost to Jared, but I'm not mad at it tbh just to see new blood.

That's how to do it.

Rewarding rank squatters is the UFC getting it wrong; rewarding Sean for playing the game is where they get it right.

I thought Strickland won that fight with Cannon, but maybe I need to do a rewatch. I kind of remember it being boring though, so maybe not.

He was going at strickland pretty hard in the first round before and after the eye poke. If you're tired just a little bit and you get dinged even by a jab sometimes suddenly the gas light is flashing.

This is exactly why the UFC is doing everything in their power to put Sean all over the place. They just want to go for the full on pro wrestling fans. That is to say, absolute fucking morons in shithole states that have no problem splitting $80 of their checks towards a dogshit PPV card as long as their 'He TeLlS iT lIkE iT iS!' guy is on it.

MW is just a weird division these days regardless. I'm not sure who deserves a title shot or if it really matters since Izzy seems to be so far ahead of the pack. Will be interesting to see how Bo develops.

Rematch between 3 of the best active fighter on the planet, i'm okay with that, especially when all the fresh matchup are so mid...

But you are making a good point about unexpected fighter to upset a solid champion. I'm just so bored by Strickland i wouldn't enjoy this upset
 
Dricus has bigger name wins of his record than Sean. Honestly it should have been Strickland vs du plesssis next. They could have tried to finally get the whittaker Costa fight done or something.
 
If Dricus somehow beats Whittaker, then they gotta give the title shot to DDP. The story is already there. Izzy wants it.

If Bobby Knuckles wins, give the shot to Strickland instead of giving Whittaker a 3rd shot. Second fight was close but I don't even know what Rob could do to beat Izzy. Seems like hell always be a step behind and an inch short.

Still mad that UFC made Draco vs Knuckles. Hate em for it. It's a terrible stylistic matchup for DDP. I think he has a better chance of beating Izzy than he does against Whittaker. Hate em....
 
Sean needs at least 2 more fights before a title shot, he needs some big wins.
 
I like Sean and his style, but he needs at the least one more top 5 win. Maybe Whittaker if he beats DDP or his short-bus riding friend Marvin. MW is kinda clogged ATM. If Israel calls for it to stay active though, so be it.

In 2022 he was well beaten by Pereira and Connonier. Since which he has beaten 2 lower ranked guys. That's not "must get title shot" material. Not even close. Laughable to suggest so.
