Barry Sanders had asthma and he is considered one of the best running backs ever.
Give Chris Johnson 2 years of training.Because an athlete that can run a Chris Johnson like 4.2 40 would only need a class of grappling to be champion...
Shhh...let the kiddos dream. Just a few more years of training! There are like 5 NFL players every year with faster top speeds than the fastest soccer player in history
thisIt’s so funny seeing all you nerds trying to discredit NFL players. In pure athleticism, nothing holds up against the NFL. Also, pretty damn impressive that Hardy had never trained any martial art in his entire life and 2 years later he’s competing at a high level at the highest level of fighting on the planet. Never mind the guys he’s fighting have been wrestling since they got out of the womb. I would love to see a cornerback or a safety come in and just tear it up. It’s only a matter of time.
Here’s another thing to think about: do you know why wrestlers do so well in mma? Let me guess, it’s because wrestling is SOOO important in modern mma? Wrong. Ask anyone who understand wrestling and they’ll tell you the level of wrestling (and grappling in general, barring a few specialists) is fairly low. Nothing you can’t lesrn in a year, probably less. Of course, none of you dorks could execute on these moves in a fight because they require an extremely high degree of athleticism to do effectively against a talented, resisting opponent. And that gets us to our answer. The reason wrestlers dominate is because they’re absolutely fantastic athletes. Sure, their experience with weight cutting and rounds definitely helps. However, the primary reason they dominate is because they’re light years ahead of everyone else WRT athleticism. Their explosiveness, quickness, balance — it’s all on another level...just like football players.
We've seen lesser NFL rejects knock out Fedor and win the UFC HW belt. How did Greg Hardy do so well with lifelong exercise induced asthma?

I guess your not familiar with the "no huddle/hurry up offensive".NFL players only need to go for 30 explosive seconds at a time then have a long rest.
It's completely different.

Gareth balewho is the fastest soccer player in history?
NFL players go for like 15 seconds max per play and then take a 30 second break after every play.

Yeah. Some sports are like sprints, where you go full speed. Some sports are marathons requiring you to carefully pace yourself. Going full speed, full power every play is extremely tiring, even with short breaks in between. Of all the criticisms of American football, this will always be one of the dumbest.
However, bringing it up in the context of MMA, as you did, is interesting, because it requires a transition between going all out in short spurts and pacing yourself at five minute intervals. This might present a challenge to ex-NFL players coming into MMA.
You should probably throw a photo of Herschel Walker in there as well...
Rugby players go full pace for 80 minutes, without pads.
