If NFL is A level athleticism

Do you actually believe this for real? The hands down fastest man in the world of all time would get beaten by these unknown guys in any sort of short distance run?
On any given day perhaps - Tyreek Hill ran a 4.25 40 at the NFL combine vs Bolts 4.22 40...so yeah these top NFL guys have world class speed at short distances.

Read again, it says his top speed was faster than bolts in one specific run. There's more to 100. 200m or even 40 than just top speed. Start, acceleration, how long you can maintain top speed etc
But top speed is kinda important right? So I would make a guess that the fastest 100 meter sprinter probably also has the fastest top speed. Just would be my bet.

So has Usain Bolt ever ran a strict 40 yard dash? And how was the NFL combine time measured? Theres alot of variables that you need to acount for.

John Ross wide receiver for the Bengals actually ran a 4.22 in the 40. So yea, a Bengals Wide receiver matched Usain Bolts 40 time.

Crazy athletes in the NFL. Ross is one of thee most underutilized athletes in the game, the guy would be a star like tyreek if he had a QB like Mahomes.

Exactly...another "no name NFL athlete" with real speed.

I agree that John Ross is underrated by his own team. He's a burner on the outside.

And btw this whole asthma thing. I wouldn't believe any high level athlete having asthma besides having an excuse to get a little performance boost with the inhaler. Theres strange coincidence with alot off cross country skiers strangly having asthma when you have to have top level conditioning for that sport. Kinda reminds one off the whole UFC TRT debacle that happened.

Amen.

Your point was originaly that they would beat him. And I agree like probably everyone else that NFL players has world class speed.
Yeah though was my original thought until I show Bolt had actually run the 40yr dash @ 4.22. I would have guessed a 4.26+ because he get beat out of the blocks often. But I do stand corrected.

I'm sure you know much more about it than I do, but from his wikipedia page, seemed like he trained with an Australian club for eight weeks, played in a few friendlies, did not play any pro matches, and then retired.

Here's an article that says he did not play in any matches for the team once the season began. "He scored two goals in his first effort for the Mariners in a friendly, but did not play matches when the season began." I apologize if I'm missing some context here, but the two sources I've looked at seem to be saying that he never played in any professional matches. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-46068150 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usain_Bolt#Football_career

Professional means paid, competitive means played in the league or Cup. Semantics, but still.
