If NFL is A level athleticism

An A level athlete would be a tall, strong, explosive guy who can run fast and jump high. Some NFL kicker or quarterback or whatever does not qualify for that. Running backs/wide receivers etc. do though. Same for the NBA. A guy with slick handles and great dunks will be an A level athlete. Not some 7’5 Tacko Fall that falls like Bambi and has only 1 ‘skillset’, waiting under the rim to grab a rebound.

The highest level athletes in the USA are probably in the NBA and NFL, however, because of specialization not every player in it will be an A level athlete.

Never seen him using an inhaler on the field :D

So in your mind, big and strong=athletic. That's the fallacy here, and we clearly are never going to agree.
Athleticism is strength, agility, speed and coordination. Endurance can be trained so I don't really care much about that in terms of athleticism. NFL players have the best combination of those criteria, especially skill positions like WR who have amazing hand eye coordination , amazing footwork, and track level speed and quickness. Their combined measurables including vertical, broad jump, speed are unmatched by any other sport. Even some of the "fat" lineman are faster and quicker than most other athletes

NFL players only need to go for 30 explosive seconds at a time then have a long rest.

It's completely different.

Lmao. You’re clueless.

Both fighters and NFL players after a fight or game can’t walk for a few days, and feels as if they were in a car wreck. Both in immense physical pain. The fighter then takes months off. The NFL guy does it again a week later (sometimes 4 days later) and week after week for few months. It’s mind boggling.

let’s see these fighters go through a fight and then do it again on Friday still banged up, then again and again and again for 16 straight weeks 16 legit fights vs legit comp. (I know it’s a bit diff being punched and kicked I get it)

They are all tough as hell. I respect both tho. You’d be singing a different toon if you saw these nfl players 4 days after a game still limping and bruised. Then realizing they can barley move still. (Rob gronkowski said he’d be crying at home from the Pain, all while having to get back out there in 2 days) They feel a lil better by Thursday. And then back at it 3 days later. It’s unreal.

Why does Greg Hardy suck then?

Not a skill position player and past his physical prime yet still beating ufc fighters with no prior martial arts experience

I agree. Greg Hardy with his size and strength can bum-rush people and still win, even though he's relatively inexperienced with bjj or standup kicks.

Bigger, more athletic NBA or NFL players would obviously do even better.

UFC fighters like Dmitri Smoliakov? His only somewhat legit win is Juan Adams and I'm fairly sure Adams was sandbagging because of the murican NFL loyalty. What else could explain him essentially giving up after the first takedown?

I was specifically referencing DC getting an offer as a linebacker. WR are crazy athletic

And ...they still suck at fighting. Crazy, isn't it?

A level athlete refers to the elite of the NFL. For example, Adrian Peterson. Explosive as fuck, track star cardio, huge wingspan, insane grip strength. Looks like this:

Not like this:

Former NFL receiver Johnny Morton got knocked the fuck out in under a minute and pissed hot afterwards.

But A-level 1000 yard receiver Michael Westbrook destroyed a larger MMA fighter opponent on Bully Beatdown.

??? Really?
My guess is because they are only known to US crowd, worldwide Bolt or top Soccer players are way more known, i have never heard of any of the NFL guys listed here.

1) World class speed? 5 out of 1500 rostered NFL players
2) Yes if you have world class speed that makes you an A level athlete as a sprinter
3) I would say obesity and A level athleticism can be accomplished. Although rare it does happen there are some tremendous tackles that are Hall of Famers because of athleticism like Larry Allen (Cowboys)
4) No, track speed is of no use in MMA, or any other combat sport. Maybe in soccer or rugby. Ocho's problem is like any other pro baller trying to change sports. Lack of experience in said sport.

I totally agree with your last paragraph, and you could use term "American football" instead of "European soccer" and your statement would still be true. Ballers at that level of the game start before the age of 10.
He is talking about the players development in European soccer teams, not as "European soccer" as a sport, those teams have the bigger budgets so they can invest so much money into early development of players, its basically where the highest level of soccer happens, other parts of the world also try to have kids soccer schools and such, but nothing that special.

You just have to be fat and fairly mobile to play most positions

You have to be able to fun fast and catch a ball for others, and throw a ball for the other

Because American Fatball isn’t a demonstration of a-level athleticism, or anything close in fact.

Only in America are roided up fat blokes with more pads than a hormonal teenage girl placed on a sporting pedistal.
Its not like America has the best athletes on the planet or anything. .

Lots of crazily athletic QBs these days. RGIII's career was derailed by injury, but as a rookie he was insanely athletic. And some of the other guys, like the guy starting in Baltimore, is certainly a top level athlete.

I'm one of the biggest Fedor fans there are and I was iffy about that Meathead fight. I knew he didn't have the chin he used to and wasnt applying all his tools like he used to which is what he needed to do. The best part of Mitrionis game were always his hands and they were deceptively effective even going back to TUF. I just shook my head when that went down.
