Social ICE/deportation protests and riots megathread

To be clear, everyone cheerleading trump and ICE are ok with this? Guy was here on a student visa back in 2017, got married and is awaiting a green card. You know those mooching chiropractors making 90-107k a year and paying 30k+ in taxes.

He married a U.S. citizen and his U.S. citizen wife filed a green card application for him,” Medeiros told OPB. “He attended his green card interview with his wife and they were just simply waiting for the green card to come through.”

A search of court records shows he doesn’t appear to have a criminal record.

I have zero problem with him being deported. Before the Biden years, the leading cause of illegals were visa overstays.

Actions like this is preventative and deters people from doing that in the future.

This guy is still free to apply (along with his wife) for citizenship from outside.

He was active in the green card process. Had applied, paid money, etc

Applying for a green card, in itself, does not grant legal status or protection from deportation. The green card application process can take years sometimes - especially from a country like Iran.

What the guy and his wife should have done is file an adjustment of status from expired visa overstay. THEN he needed to apply for a green card.

So they fucked up in the process. At least he'll get an opportunity to apply in the future since he has US citizen wife.

He probably had to leave the country and come back using the the marriage visa then apply for the green card. It's probably some stupid overlap because he came in with a student visa.

ICE isn't a well trained agency and they aren't accustomed to having so much power. They held an Irish tourist who overstayed his visa for 3 days. He was leaving the country to go back to Ireland. It should be a fine and a temp ban. It's not supposed to be in immigration jail for more than 3 months.

This is retarded. https://nltimes.nl/2025/07/15/dutch-celebrity-tax-advisor-arrested-american-immigration-service-ice Guy commits tax fraud

They extradited a Dutch citizen from Italy to US for tax fraud. He served his time then ICE picked him up after he is released because he has no valid immigration status. He already booked his tickets to leave America on the day of release and never wanted to be here in the first place. Just escort him to the airport and be done with him. There is no point holding him for months and then deporting him. It's just a waste of money.

It’s wild we’re deporting guys who have citizen spouses, kids, and are trying to do things legally. The guy put in his green card application and had his interview.

so we lose the tax money from a guy who makes 6 figures and spend how many thousands in resources and time on federal LEOs to make sure this chiropractor gets shipped back to a dictatorship we’re currently bombing where he hasn’t lived in a decade?

There's no getting between these people and the sense of power they feel watching literally anyone being deported for any (or no) reason
It's like a drug

In curious where in the process someone could be before they’re safe? If someone jumped a visa, sticks around and goes through all the legal hoops, fees, interviews, etc and is 12 hours away from taking their civics test and gaining citizenship, are they fair game?

If that person is safe, help me walk it back until you feel the line would be where they are no longer safe from ICE.
