Ians MT and PL log-2

Currently post shower and with a somewhat wet towel, I'm weighing 87.7 kg.
In the morning it's about 86 give or take. It's slowly going down now I'm trying paleo and IF.

I used to weigh 81kg, and fought originally 81, but after a few years ended up at 84.
My DL I never really worked on before as I couldn't use chalk. Now now I can I'm going through a phase.
2007 I did managed to Zercher DL 162.5 for 3 reps, so in reality, I haven't really progressed.
My old Squat was 140 for 5's back in like 2004/2005 when I was 82kg. So plenty of work to be done. It's a shame my old log was deleted. But I lement for the sake of it.
Unfortunately I work now and not a bum student.

I need to get my CV work going again. Doing 2-3 a week isn't enough

up to the last set I was supposed to be working 10kg lower, but didn't realise the first plate I hate on there was a 25 a side, not a 20. I was surprised 172.5 was so hard to lift. Re checked afterwards and what do you know.

Power of the 5/3/1 I guess....or actually being bothered to bench now.

edit- scales say I'm 13 st 5 at the moment. Not sure if these are right

Even more impressive for the weight you're at. I'm 15 and a half stone and can only manage 70kg x 1 on OHP currently, but have been on 5/3/1 since Jan so sure it will increase.
 
Yeah it deffo will go up.

What's your bench like?
My OHP has gone up since I started up benching
 
My bench is pretty poor, but I just went up from 102.5kg to 107.5kg for a new PR today. Not great, but it's moving in the right direction, which is the main thing. I never have a spotter so I'm always slightly conservative when benching.
 
Yeah same. Have a look to when I started in like October.

I hadn't been benching at all and never been a fan of spotters and don't have training partners, so OHP has always been the way for me.

Anyone else find it odd to see weights discussed in both stone and kilos in the same post?

I'm pretty sure why you missed the second squat, Ian: your legs got bored in the hour and a half it took you to get settled and actually squat. :)

Got back from lands end to john o groats cycle on Friday gone.
Used my new (now broken) forerunner 910xt to record it all, so will upload at some point. Obviously bill training for it and did it on a hybrid/mountain bike without any foot strap things.

Need to get back into decent training. Just been so busy

Nice one, always fancied walking that...doubt work would give me the time off to do it though.
 
It was AT for me.


I've just discovered the gym in base has a Jacobs ladder.
Must find some training programmes and funnily enough start lifting again

Got 4 weeks in a row lifting twice a week.
Got the DL to 160 for 6 and squat....well lets not talk about that (90 for 8 ass to grass).
 
Got 165 for 6 on the 20th back at base

3 sessions in before break and I was back to 107.5 for 8 squat and 170 for 6 deadlift

Then racked up weight to 170 and did some stand outs and moved from one leg to another for a bit to get re used to the weight
