Ians MT and PL log-2

whats it like on the A1 cause Ive got training tonight

Clear at the moment.

They say blizzard tonight though.

I'm supposed to take thai tonight at 8. I'll be heading into london.

I forsee tragedy.

I guess for your resting HR that's fair enough. They say to do it upon waking only really though.

Are you going to try the sprint, rest until your HR is down to 120 protocal?

I tell you what, 400's suck. Please note- I do not advocate doing them for atleast a week.

yeh stuff like that, and track how long it takes and try and get the time down

gonna start doing swimming and HICT on the spin bike, are those spin bikes good like in terms of tracking distance/power output etc.

---

blizzard wtf?? hopefully not lol

Honestly I don't use those bikes anymore, I use the spin bikes which don't have any output data. They just have a seat, peddles and a resistance knob.
The things with the power output don't hold up to heavy resistance. They are magnetic and slip on me when I get to level 8.

Wouldn't HICT be more specific to running? I thought the idea of HICT work was to develop the lactate threshold of the body. OR....is it for the whole body and by using the legs, which are the biggest muscle in the body, you can do that.
I remember the versa climber being the thing of choice, so maybe I just answered my own question.

Regarding the time to get the HR down, wouldn't some cardiac capacity bring some into that.

yeh its 2 sets of 20 minutes on high resistance to build up endurance in the legs/body and cardiac output

i remember when I used to train thai I did some cardiac output work and my recovery in between rounds got better

Was HICT cardiac output and longer 60-90 minute stuff at a HR around 120 for cardiac volume?

The HICT isn't HR based is it? It should remain relatively low if I remember correctly. It shouldn't go to 150 for example, if it does, the resistance is too low.

i think HICT was more to build up muscle endurance or 'oxidative muscle' but its in the 120-150 HR range so it would work on cardiac output too.

Oh so higher then I though. I usually train above 150 for cardio work, hence my perception is different.

i ordered it on monday i think

its just a grey watch with two sensor buttons on it, I think I broke one already but the other sensor works so..

lol

Many thanks Mr standard sir

26 now. I'm closer to 30 then 20 :(

I'm in the same boat, and that was the first thing i noticed too... :icon_sad:

happy birthday, 26 youre still young..still in your prime years

Ha! I'm still on the fence until October.

So when you do sprint work, how many sets of 400m do you run?

You're a lazy lazy boy. Look back to 2 weeks ago tomorrow.

To be honest I'm new to 400's. I've done 2 sessions and now pulled my groin (in a bad way).

I was usingt the 400 program from running man on the t nation site. My first 400 the first time was 1 min 19, I did 4 with 90s rest, the next one was 5 with the same rest, but I got the first one out in 1 min 13s. It's all down.
