Moved into gym to prepare for dubai fight on monday

Trained this morning and having sat night and sunday off, back on monday

From the monday to 2 weeks friday I trained in the gym 2 * a day, pad work in the morning usually and sparring at night.

Just got back, loss on points.
Basically 2 judges gave it to him, a russian judge gave it to me and argued with the other 2. The promotor wanted to call it a draw because he said it was that close, but due to being a local boy he asked the event co ordinator guy and he said I lost, so...thats the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

The guy as it turns out has had 14 (15 now) pro thai boxing fights, 50+ boxing pro fights and was the lebanese boxing heavyweight champion. Not any real comfort though. It was nice to know I have only a bad knock on my arm that I went in there with (after 2 shots I decided it was less painful to take a full round house on the ribs then the arm) whereas he couldn't walk without aid and I apparently tagged him pretty hard a few times.

Not exactly a beauty pageant then? j/k

Nice work, you got any vid from the fight? Sounds like a tough opponent and a close fight. Any idea when you're fighting next?

Nice work Ian.

How many fights have you had now?

+1 for the video btw.

I worked out although this was my 13th fight (and I thought before i went in 'huh, 13...unlucky for some'), this was actually just my 9th pro. I'm not counting the am I had in this country and the 3 I had last year at the world championships.

I will wait like you guys for the vid. It went out on the main russian sports channel (because my team mate went for a intercontinental belt, lost due to a cut...toes nails man...). Funny thing, at the show and press conference, aljerzera (sp?) news were there.

Not sure about when I'm fighting again, I need to let things heal and sort out this new job. I'm going to have some down time from training for a month-6 weeks now for sure (3 month probabtion at new job from mid may). I was supposed to go for a british title on the 28th, but dubai clashed. I'm not that injured, just a bit dis heartened at the mo. Need a bit of fire back.

This was my first real 5*3 min round, I had one in thailand 2 years ago when I was just starting (4th fight, 3rd pro), but that ended by tko in the 3rd (the power of the lower kick-I won against a boxer), so it was a new experience for me.
Apparently I looked clean, tidy (had a few thai businessmen come up to me, this was a show at La Meridian hotel, about 20 tables, each seating 5 people, each seat was $600) and proffessional (being that I took my time to work out his strengths (HANDS) and weaknesses).

I found out during the press conference that my guy has additional stuff put into the contract lately because last war on the shore he threw his opponent out of the ring (caught a kick and over the top rope, about 5 ft off the ground), then he showed him the finger and told him fuck you (businessmen etc apparently don't want to hear bad language, so the update to the contract)

edit-what I'll do when I get time (got in 5 hours ago, 4 hour sleep in 36 hour period so far, another 12 to go) is upload some pics that i took on my camera

edit- because they were posted on a fight forum earlier today

Cardio

Was feeling fat and I've told myself I will have 2-3 weeks off thai to let a injury from my fight before last heal, so I went down to the gym and did a hour on the cross trainer. Something like level 12 for 20 min, level 14 for 25 min, level 16 for 10 min, level 18 for 3 min and level 20 for the last 2 min.

I'm going to try and do some lifting tomorrow....its been since mid january.....Its going to be a experience I think

Sorry to hear about the L but kick ass work none the less, that high kick looks mint

Cheers mate

I had a warm fuzz as I skulked along afterwards to see he needed 4* the time to get anywhere due to his legs being so fucked (you can see in the pic by round 2 that his leg was red and slightly swollen).

Take the losses and wins, part of the game annoyingly enough

btw-I thought that was amazing timing on the part of the camera man
