Ian Garry has a bigger chance to KO than MVP

If Magny lost his custody battle it's because he publicly claimed he was beating his own kids, not because of anything Ian Garry said. Jesus Christ, the hoops you are going through to not blame Magny. Why in the blue hell would someone going through a custody battle publicly state they beat their children? Whatever fallout resulted is entirely on Magny. He deserves no sympathy and Garry shouldn't get shit for calling out child abuse.

@Luthien what would Jon Anik have to say about the whole thing

Reminder that for as technical as he is, MVP lost to Mike Perry because he is very hittable in the pocket. Mike beat Page by playing checkers better than MVP could play chess.
Dude..

That was literally a different sport. BKFC, and MMA are not the same rules. What a bizarre comment.

In a world where MVP is the same age as Garry, I think he walks away with this fight. But that's not the world we live in. I think it'll be competitive and I'm imagining neither guy gets a finish. Likely a Garry decision.

Neil isn't a good striker and he took the fight on 10 days notice. Garry didn't have to worry about anything in that fight. He just walked him down and Garry doesn't have the best footwork.

Holland is supposed to be a showcase matchup for MVP. The commentary made it seem like MVP blew him away but it was competitive in terms of the volume of strikes until the last round. Holland landed the majority of legkicks in the fight. Holland doesn't have the footwork to cut off MVP. Holland landed some shots too but couldn't cause much damage. Garry is a much harder striker than Holland. I don't think Page can just tank leg kicks from Garry.

Neil is a decent volume striker, it's always been strong grapplers with a submission threat that gave him the most issues. Yes, he took it on short notice, but that's beside the point.

MVP did sort of blow Holland away, though. Kevin's only meaningful moment of success was when he capitalized on a slip by Page to get on top of him and put him in some danger until MVP made his way back to his feet. The rest of the fight mostly consisted of Kevin eating pistons of straight rights and walking into spinning elbows. The fight looking "competitive in terms of the volume of strikes" -- whilst probably true if you're only looking at stats on a page -- is also incredibly misleading. All of the impactful blows and moments on the feet were being had by MVP, who was landing shots that likely would have dropped or KO'd other fighters that don't have Kevin's durability.

I think Garry using a gameplan reliant on significant amount of low kicks and offensive grappling is potentially viable, but that's again beside the point. My original point of contention was the claim that "neither fighter is used to fighting dudes with similar height/reach" when they just had camps and bouts where they did just that and did fairly well, all things considered. It's not a totally novel experience or a consistent hole in their game.

This fight is turning out terrible. Garry obviously isn't used to striking someone with the same reach on the outside. He turned D1 as soon as he couldn't counter.

LMFAO, what a shit take join date 2021. Gary is getting countered and dropped in this fight. His only choice is to panic wrestle like Conor did in the Diaz fight. He might even catch a Cyborg esque knee in the process.

and then couldnt really do anything with it. Almost had the choke at first and then nothing. And then MVP couldnt land a punch from the top ... and then didnt shake him off. MAN. 2nd round was good thou. Should be a draw but they will prolly give it to garry

Garry probably won. It's not a fight that we wanted. Garry is not a title contender.

MVP landed the better strikes tonight.
...Garry's grappling is not up to Dagestani levels. I am not impressed with Garry's counter striking in this performance. But he got the w.

Based off Garry being a counter striker and MVP lunging in and having his hands low, the later which could result in a nasty headkick. Ian is also one of the tallest and most elusive people MVP will fight.

Just being logical.
