Arman struggled way too much with Oliveira to be a serious threat to Illia. Illia is going to run that division for as long as he wants.

Really not sure why people think Arman is anything special. He hasn’t looked particularly impressive in his fights.

I don't think he even won that fight.

The more I think about it, him "throwing out his back" and dropping out could be a blessing in disguise. I think stylistically Islam was just not a good match up for Arman and what he's strongest at which is grappling. I think Islam was just better than him at it, and was also a better kickboxer. WIth Ilia I think there's better avenues for him to really leverage his grappling strength with Topuria just being a smaller than Islam guy who although is a great grappler, isn't islam good. Topuria could still just spark him like he seemingly does everyone else. But I think it's a better style match up than fighting islam is for Arman. So he might not be off base being confident he will be champ.
