Pereira had been recently in France, when the French old presentator (it seemed like a super formal setting btw, almost like a big office lol) said that DDP recently told him that "you and JJ are the top 2 in the world. Who do you think are the best ones?" Poatan said "DDP and Jon Jones in my opinion. But Jon Jones is still different".

Then the French guy asked what to him made JJ special to be the best of all time. Alex Poatan said "well, I think the amount of times he defended his belt". He then was asked whether he'd prefer to fight JJ or Tom, and he said "Ideally, I'd like the Aspinall fight first, but I have called him out a few times already and the organization even called both of us to possibly make the fight, but he didn't show interest, so Jon Jones. I can fight Aspinall after Jon Jones".

He was then asked if Tom and Jon Jones fought who did he think would win, and he said "Jon Jones" ... He then was asked between him and Jon Jones, he said "that would be the biggest fight of my life, there's no other fight if I had one left only, of any type, that I would pick over than facing Jon Jones. That fight has a lot of meaning for me. I think I will beat him" ... He said he wants to fight Jon Jones with his condition 100% and that his focus will be exactly like the focus he had with Jiri Prochakza second fight, and that he'd be going expecting a very tough fight but that his intention is to put on a show and dominate.

Jon Jones talked about Pereira as a champion killer, "like myself" ...

Pereira beat Hill and Jiri who had defeated Glover Teixeira. Jon Jones was the first one to break Glover's big streak, and he dislocated Glover's elbow with a joint twist right in the start of the fight. He said he was there when JJ defeated Lyoto too. Pereira had posted before the Ankalaev fight a gif of him beating up Khalil and saying "this won't be Ankalaev 😭 😭. "

He said it could be interpreted as ppl want, like, " that Ankalalev won't be the one he will beat up like that"... He also says he prefers to go up while losing the belt, rather than vacating it. He said if he kept the belt he'd fear that he'd end up wanting to fight DDP or Khamzat at 205... But he said that despite Joe Rogan later talking about him being sick and having a broken wrist, that he doesn't like to talk about this because every fighter faces injuries. He said he recognized that since he wanted to fight Ankalaev as soon as possible, this camping was the toughest one, but that every fighter has their own issues with injuries so his loss is totally Ankalaev's merit, that he fought very well, etc. He said he would only pull out if that were a fight he had to win no matter what, but that he tried his absolute best to beat Ankalaev too. Plus he said the experience of fighting a well rounded fighter with very good striking and grappling made him better, more prepared... The same way he said that after facing Jan and Jiri, he got better, as he started to adapt more and more to MMA... And now having experienced grappling with a well rounded fighter, that he feels more confident than ever that he can fight anyone as if it were a kickboxing match without being worried to be taken down since he said not even DC when trying for real when they grappled briefly could get too close to taking him down...

I mean.... This fight would be surreal, dudes...

UFC fucked up when they made Tom vs Pavlovich for a title because it tied their hands to what they could do. Aspinall vs Jones is the clear fight to make and there's no way around it.

I’m a Jones fan and Alex is clearly a more winnable fight , but Jones vs Aspinall is the fight to make …..The GOAT adds one more scalp to his legendary career or a proper changing of the guard ….its gotta happen

At this point in Jones career, he's fighting for legacy. It doesn't make sense for him to fight a dangerous, elite opponent if it's not for a belt. He had a couple of non-title fights at HW to test the waters and make sure he earned a title shot. Since he already held the LHW belt for a decade or so, he shouldn't have to "earn"
a title shot by beating Poatan before facing Ank.

In terms of legacy and accomplishments Jones and Alex have achieved way more that Tom has currently. I can see the intrigue in the fight.

And for money too. I feel he'd have retired if not for the money. If not for a possibility in negotiating for a big $ he would have retired.

JJ said though literally that "my value doesn't lie in belts anymore. I'm don't need the HW belt. I've created something much bigger to me than belts. I want Pereira. That fight will have a good financial incentive considering how big Pereira is, and I want to test my ability vs his. And he's someone I respect as a warrior and hard worker. I'm running the risk of having my 0 taken, so I'm ok if that person is Pereira. For someone like him, I can sacrifice everything. "

JJ has weight bullied enough bloated up middleweights

Alex is a bloated middleweight in your dreams. He walks at 235 ~ 240 lb. JJ natural weight is slightly smaller, like 230... They're the same size. Is Reyes a bloated HW? Cuz Alex weighs more than Reyes.

Idc either way, if both JJ and Alex want it, then I want it too.

but thats not now troll detracting works. when you wanna discredit somebody who call out the lowest weight the opponent has ever fought at so u can call them a weight bully. IF its the other way around and the one you are rooting that lost is from a heavier class and cut to a lower weight class then you just say "they were drained from the over weight cut."

For example if you dont like BJ and he beats somebody you like at 145 then you call him a welterweight who weight bullied a featherweight. IF you do like BJ and he loses at 170 then you go to the lowest he's fought at and you say "not fair... he was a bloated featherweight.(even if its a fight that happened before BJ ever cut that low)" You just keep alternating it to fit the narrative. IF you are a hardcore OVereem fan and he gets shadow realmed u just call his opponent a weight bully who just bullied a LHW. IF you are a Daniel Cormier fan and he loses at any weight in mma you just say "he wrestled at Middleweight and just KFCed his way up to LHW/HW" and his opponent just weight bullied him.

In this instance if Jon fought alex You call jon the weight bully cause alex has been at middleweight many times. If somebody bulks up past the point of no return and can never cut that low again, you just never bring logic into this and just never mention that.

(also no tho... Jon needs to fight tom.. not the guy that gets taken down by izzy)

No dude. Not surreal. More like For real stupid

Its a really stupid and easy fight for Jon which is why he wants it.

I want to see the best fight the toughest match ups. Alex had a floating weakness that fits prefecture into JBJ strength.

Jon has very few weaknesses that maybe only Tom can exploit. hw from the past could've too but Tom is the only one now, maybe. Which is why the Tom fight is interesting.

Alex v Jon is for noobs and UFC boot lickers

Jones can fight Pereira, after he vacates the heavyweight title.

you just want to make jones haters cry even more

Jones fans want him to fight anyone but Aspinall, surprised they’re not calling for Sam Alvey vs JJ.

Why that's a bigger selling fight than Aspinall. Isn't the idea of running a business making money?
Didn’t Dana say Aspinall vs Jones would be the biggest HW fight in ufc history? Not sure how Pereira vs Jones be bigger after Poatan stock dropped after the Ank fight. It would have a case had Pereira won. But he’s not even the best LHW.
