I just realized that Weidman and Rockhold destroyed each other

Something was odd about Weidman in that fight. From the start of the fight he looked slow and off. All the credit to Luke he fought the perfect fight but that looked nothing like the Weidman we had seen leading up to that.

Also we all know it was Bisping that ended Lukes career.

Fck I hate hearing Rogan begging for a fight to be stopped.

All these years went by with me believing that Only Weidman had his career ended the night he fought Rockhold. But the reality is both guys were never the same after that fight.

Before the fight they were considered the two best middleweights in the world, after the fight they turned into walking KOs waiting to happen.

We know why Weidman was never the same. Luke hammered him like a nail through the octagon in one of the most brutal GNP sequences ever. But the real mystery is how did Rockhold get washed up? He's the one who did the brutalizing but somehow he was never the same.

Herb Dean is a fucking joke

Lol. NO. Luke always had this glaring weakness of being able to be touched but was good enough to camouflage it over the years until someones coach had an " ah ha " moment and told his " decent" middleweight to just come with his left ,sit on it and fucking double up on it. Done and done ( along with the fried wires leading up to Luke's brain ).

Chris, who was a real champ, mistaken himself for this pound for pound " stand up" fighter. He wasnt and found himself in the perfect time... perfect place. Once all those great SFORCE middles came over and got a few UFC fights under belt , his days were numbered.

I will say this - Chris shouldve NEVER taken the punishment he took in final minute of 3rd round in Rockhold fight.
Title fight or no - that was ridiculous....maybe the worst I've seen ( a combined 100 fists/elbows ). That didnt ruin his career, though.

Chris did a number on Luke's fists that night. Almost tired him out but didn't stay active enough. His own fault for letting Herb stop it. Bad game plan that was

Not a mystery.

His ego got affirmed when he became champ, he thought he'd steam roll a guy he already beat once, then this happened. Chin, ego, and pride all destroyed.

What I find odd about this is that many people claim Weidman only declined due to USADA while ignoring this insane beating however I haven't heard many people claim that Rockhold declined because of USADA and yet he doesn't have any other obvious reason for his huge decline unlike Weidman who took a huge beating in a fight that should have been stopped way sooner and had a lot of injuries and surgeries as well.

Rockhold's massive decline seems a lot more likely USADA related than Weidman's yet I hear way more claims that Weidman's decline was due to USADA than Rockhold's decline, I have a feeling it's a lot of butthurt Anderson and Machida fans.

The spin kick that ended a career. The still my boy story

Im pretty sure bisping, yoel and Jan destroyed rockhold.

Only worse boneheaded move I can think of was Lombard going for a leglock on Magney in round 2 after winning round 1 10-8. Both guys were never the same after those moves due to the damage it led to them taking.

Weidman lost more,he had higher to fall

It was after the Rockhold fight where Weidman had said he had alot of injuries, and when i heard the extent i thought...he's done.

The fact he came back after that at all is incredible

In terms of career yes, but I kind of meant more for a single fight. I thought Weidman was ahead in round 3(before the wheel kick) and won round 1 but the Judges had Rockhold winning round 1 so at best he was turning the fight around and wasn't ahead on the scorecards when he messed up. Lombard was up 10-8 in round 1 and was winning round 2 10-9 when he fucked up.

Yeah, he had a huge number of injuries, he's kind of like the Ken Griffy Jr. of MMA in that way.

Personally think Weidman and Rockhold and Mousasi and Jacare and Romero, all of them back in the same weight class, Israel would have NEVER became a champ. If he had to go through them. Not sure if he would have winning record either.

Israel didn't have to face a SINGLE one in his run to the title. I guess UFC knows what they are doing to build people. They just got these murderers to fight each other.

Adesanya fought Romero. and none of those guys were winning when Adesanya entered the title picture. if you think he couldn't have KO'd the majority of those guys i don't know what you're watching.
