I hate Apple computers

I use Windows 10 and often it takes more than several seconds to launch anything like Excel or print web page to PDF. What's really irritating is printing to PDF lets you save as a name, but when you're typing, it suddenly switches away to something else as active window, but you can't see any new window pop up. It does that all the time. No idea if it's some malware taking screenshots or if the web browser is just too screwy. Launching a video file also takes far too long as if it's doing all sorts of unauthorized shit before it gets to my request.

Yeah i hate them too. But im also used to Windows and with apple everything is on another place. Tried to show my friend how to use torrent until i found out he had a mac. We ended that relationship unamicable.

Fucking Mac's.

I work in tech and I can't explain why they're supposedly more secure than Windows devices but it's just harder to do anything. I would make a copy of a .txt file and it saves is as "name.txt copy" and then I have to rename it. How stupid is that set up?

Even simple shit I have to google, like how to find file locations. The odd thing is that so much companies use Mac hardware and Windows apps. When I open an excel file on a Mac it takes about five seconds. How the fuck is that efficient in any way?

You have misunderstood

Mac’s are infinitely better. Sure, if you focus on small items that annoy you that aren’t possible on Macs, then the grass may seem greener, but the big picture is that Macs are vastly better.

and yes, I am familiar with Windows. I’m a Windows application, developer, so I am more than deeply familiar with windows

Ive had NOTHING but problems anytime Apple is involved.

I call em "The Emperors New Clothes" of tech.

Fuck those dummies at "The Genius Bar" too.
Only problem with Apple for me was swollen iPod Touch battery and I suspect it was due to using iPad charger instead of iPhone charger and maybe iPod Touch getting super hot while watching ONE FC live before I started putting it on giant heatsink (laptop stand made of iPhone aluminum).

Actually another problem is older iPhone used to connect to PC via USB cable and I could move files back and forth, but last try it wouldn't connect.

Hard disagree. Windows is a disaster. MacOS isn't perfect by any means but I would never choose Windows if I have the option.
Agreed. And that is why everything I have for home use is a Mac.
That said, I don’t think Apple has as robust an offering for enterprise computing. But holy shit has Microsoft just been completely fucking up the last decade and a half. I mean, just every possible way. Have you ever had to re-install Teams on someone’s computer? Holy shit. And don’t get me started on how now they have a new type of app that can only be uninstalled using a powershell script. Fucking A.

Yeah it's pretty clear Windows continues to be popular based almost entirely on inertia. We actually switched over everything at work to Apple about seven years ago and it's been much smoother. I have both MacOS and Linux systems and would never trade either of them for Windows.

I’ve enjoyed telling Mac users to get a windows pc when their mac is the only one having issues connecting to the terminal server. Sorry we’re not rebooting the server every day just so you can connect.

Opie applies for a job in tech support and the first thing out of their mouth is *how much experience do you have with Apple products*

<Lmaoo>

At one of my jobs they gave us work phones and my manager refused to give us anything but Apple iPhone. Everyone in my office hated it

i was trying to built hackintosh but choose 2017 macookair and nothing special about mac it is safer do to being so simple nobody or could you even store your passwords or something critical on it because it takes 2 or 3 rewrites to store something

The only reason Mac is more "secure" is because of low percentage of people that use them. Therefore less people are going to waste their time writing malware for them. It's definitely not unheard of though.

Imagine trying to game on a Mac.

I've always hated apple because of the way they railroad you into playing in their little sandbox giving you zero to shitty interoperability with their products.

I used to at least give them props for having better hardware over most PC builders but I can't find a laptop of theirs that's better than a surface laptop.

They just had to fix a big security issue.
Ironi is it was Microsoft that found it.

i've worked with apples a few times, of course, at first, when you're not used to it, it's frustrating but after that, I thought the quality was way higher than windows in just about every way. Some things were much worse though, different models were so different in how the pieces fit together it was a lot harder to match parts if you had to change things. In other words, it seemed like if any part wasn't working you'd be better off buying a new apple instead of fixing the old one. The genius bar was helpful when I needed them and they are smart and on top of their game, which can't be said for most people in their workplaces. Just dead on their jobs, no fucking around, it's always great to get that kind of help because it's practically unheard of to deal with that level of competence. Bright, enthusiastic young people.

another thing, when I consider doing music or film on a laptop, I don't even consider using windows much, I just assume that apple will have the superior means to do them just because they always have. Everything is better, the screen, the sound, the software. Now, that may have changed in the last ten years, I don't know and haven't really been able to put in the time to creative work like I wanted to.
