Apple Products are Overpriced & Overrated.

Apple is like Makita. Yes, they make some really good stuff but the guys who make a whole lifestyle out of it are tiresome.

Especially when they're just hobbyists who buy contractor level hardware they use 4 times a month but talk about all day every day.
Who are these people?

I might have been in the industry for 16 years and know what's expendable and worth it ROI wise.
I'm on the same boat as @Doughie99 , but mine is an 11 yr old MSI. There really is nothing wrong with it but company sent me a brand new gaming laptop. I've done 2d animations, Adobe Premiere, after effects, 3d work and thousands upon thousands of hours of gaming. I think I had my money's worth and more with my device.

Perfect. I think 3 MBPs in 21 years they're not doing a bad job considering the only one that doesn't work is because my cat knocked a glass of wine over it.

Computing is so web-based now that everything can be done well with a good screen, good keyboard and just enough power to run multiple tabs without stuttering for 90% of users.

I haven't used anything other than chromebooks for years.

I agree they are overpriced, but most brands are.

They are well made, and great for work machines and such. It just depends on what you want out of it really.

I only use an iPhone because I had an iPod touch back in 2013. Idk. All my apps are already bought on here and I hate change.

I will say tho that Apple is a cunt. They didn’t create their products to be easily repaired. I was going to replace the battery in a 4th gen iPod nano, but after researching it I finally decided to hire somebody else to do it. And even that guy is struggling with it.

So the guy's still working on it?

No one's been here long enough to get the tip and circumcision reference.

Every PC I've owned clunked out after less than 2yrs - I've had the same Apple mac book for 12yrs.

I have a problem with how much control apple has over their products. reminds me of ferrari controlling shenanigans with their cars.

I keep my Apple products for this weird trust I have in their sandbox. I’m no techie, though, so that might be stupid.

I'm an Android, Windows, Chrome OS, and in the past Linux user

I've been using my Walmart Black Friday special HP Pavilion laptop that I bought 4.5 years ago. I upgraded the RAM to 16 GB and to Windows 11. I use it as a desktop. I haven't had any major issues since day 1. It's run very smoothly. Granted, the battery life is nowhere near Apple Silicone. Overall, I've been pretty happy with this budget computer. I haven't had any BSOD for years, nor updates that randomly interrupt my work flow. No viruses or other malware.

I'm interested in the new Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM Windows laptops. The battery life is supposedly a huge improvement over x86. However, as this laptop is running smoothly, I don't have any urgency to upgrade.

If it weren't for that I need MS Office, my Citrix client to remote into work, I would consider Linux as my primary OS.

Although I'm not an Apple fan, the new Mac Mini M4 looks tempting for something I can grab for about $500. I haven't used Mac OS in ages, and would be interested in seeing if the Mac Mini lives up to its hype.

Who reinstalls windows? Why would you even do that?
You have computer problem. You call tech support who doesn't know shit. They tell you reinstall operating system.

Also, I'm noticing Microsoft or computer manufacturer often does shit in the background using up tons of CPU and disk resources and you know by experiencing crippling slowdown and launch Task Manager to see for yourself. If you don't know it's doing critical shit and try to power down, I suspect OS files will and can get corrupted. I once had shit unreliable Spectrum internet and Windows Update files got corrupted and result was web browsers stopped working. I had to reinstall browser downloaded by different computer.

lol my main computer is a Dell my wife bought for me before we got married in 2015...
I'm guessing antivirus software no longer supports your old computer and you might have tons of malware.

You just hope the Sandbox Guardians are diligent and uncorruptible.

No doubt. It’s actually crazy how easy they make it to have your entire life on a phone.
