Clickbait is unfortunately a language that speaks to all of us.
Boxing is super corrupt lol watch Canelo vs GGG 1 ... Canelo draw was outrageous... Canelo vs GGG 2 could have been a draw.I think it only seems like that because we're seeing more fights on more cards. We have a fight card almost every week in the UFC and now other organizations are putting on more cards. The 10pt, round by round system came from boxing. The average boxing match has many more rounds to make up for badly scored ones and they still have tons of shitty decisions. So it's to be expected in 3 or 5 round fights.
As of right now i think some of the lower weight classes could realistically go 10 x 3 min rounds, as long as every round is 10-9 there are no draws, not that it wont be any controversial decisions, but at least no draws. How many rounds could MMA athletes realistically be expected to fight? Would they have to be shorter rounds?
The thing with some fights, or this 2 in particular is that the odd score card goes to the extreme, giving too many rounds to one fighter in the case of Canelo or giving a weird round in the case of Grasso, did the official decision seem that out of place? At least in the case of Grasso a draw with a non weird scorecard would have been totally fair and ok to the eyes of many, i thought she won 3-2, in the case of GGG vs Canelo i think a closer scorecard would had been way less controversial, 2nd fight i thought Canelo clearly won that, a draw in the first was being generous.Boxing is super corrupt lol watch Canelo vs GGG 1 ... IMO it’s that the UFC likes to exert influence over a sport that’s not supposed to have a pre-determined outcome. They basically are stacking the deck.It keeps people arguing and tuning in and being emotionally invested in what would’ve been a fight not many cared about. Myself included.
Controversial decisions are very common, to the point you can see it pop up in nearly every event that we’ve gotten use to it.
