I am an ex-Scientologist. (LONG read)

Holy crap...just got to the end of the thread after several late nights following Wiki articles and Youtube videos. Those videos of the...whatever the hell you want to call those lost souls, ganging up and demanding to know what "crimes" were committed really freaked me out, imagining how it'd be a thousand times more intense in one of their "auditing" sessions. *shudder*

Congratulations for getting out and really laying your ass on the line for this cause, Will. I have to say that I checked your posting activity at a few points to make sure you were still posting on Sherdog and hadn't abruptly (and ominously) stopped.

Take care...and I mean that in the most sincere way.

If you are skeptical, then a link like this doesn't prove anything as Will could have found a random, obscure obit on the internet and used the name. Not saying this is my opinion, just saying...

Oh, and Will, whether your thread is true or not, its still one of the more interesting on Sherdog currently, so thanks for that. I logged on last night around 10:30 thinking I'd check out what's doing down on SD before I go to bed and ended up staying up until 1:30am reading the entire thread, and its spinoff threads. Good luck!

Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed it. And that's him in the link.

Keep in mind I started this thread on the 3rd of December. He died on the 10th.

Now tell them to go fuck themselves, so I don't have to. :icon_chee

my god, TS, if i were you i'd be assassinating people left and right and giving them hell. it is only a matter of time before some ex-member does this

i'd do it myself, but they're lucky that none of my family or friends has ever been involved

Great Thread Will!

GasGuzzler, Will posted on 12/11 that his uncle Bob died, your link wasn't published till 12/18............... just saying :icon_chee does "anonymous" have a guide online to pulling message board frauds???

Will you touched on the celebrity obsession with Co$, but what is really going on with Cruise and Will Smith acting weird and eccentric. Doesn't Scientology have some sort of false promise of living forever?? Are they being blackmailed for killing a kitten??

I never thought there could be a church worse than Rev Wrights :icon_twis

Thanks mate!

I really think everything is going to be fine.

Thanks for checking for my posts. I can't make it any more obvious that it's me posting, than my continued defence of Aoki. lmao

YouTube - WIll Smith on Will Smith, Scientologist

Will Smith is a noob in the Co$. And he doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about. Ego is the main driving force behind a motivated scientologist. "I am immortal. I can do ANYTHING I decide to with just my decision. I am the only one that can help. I am better than people that don't know this yet."

And he's getting the full red carpet treatment right now, but...

So much for that conspiracy theory.
...unless of course it wasn't suicide.

Hopefully noone goes there... to say somone is lying about, or exploiting, the death of a relative is vicious and tasteless.

Anyway... as an ex-cultist myself, an interesting thread.
I've long had it in for scientology, as much for being bad science fiction as for being a horribly exploitive pseudo-religion.

Thanks, brother.

It's all good though. There's no place else I'd rather be than with you all. Even the trolls.

interesting read. glad you got out.

fuck scientology. right in the ass.

Hey, Will.

I was hoping you could confirm or reject a suspicion I have had regarding Scientology...

It is obvious there are front groups everywhere, but are they directly entrenched in this apparent pseudo-science which goes by names such as:

1) Nutrition Response Testing
2) Applied Kinesiology
3) Contact Reflex Analysis

This is the jist of it...

Although there are different names and maybe slight differences between them, they all seem to be the same mumbo jumbo and usually practiced by a chiropractor or retired chiropractor (a profession which I am only now realizing is more alternative than medical lol).

Apparently the founder of "Nutrition Response Testing" is a Scientologist named Freddie Ulan. That alone is a huge turn-off for me, but I try to be open minded and not bury someone's trade as being a religious front without definite confirmation. However, after researching the shit out of things, this character Freddie seems to be a little more than just a Scientologist underling; further making me skeptical of the alternative/holistic services he is pushing.

Just in general, there seems to be a HUGE connection between chiropractors and Scientology. It didn't quite make sense at first, but now that I have read some criticisms against chiropractic as an empirical science and how much that field believes in a philosophy of panacea (one cure for all) and de-emphasizes germ theory...DING DING DING. lol If you look it up, even the history of chiropractic's founding seems to read a little like Joseph Smith and the Golden Tablets.

Anyhow, I have a vested interest in religion and cults, but most importantly in their attempt to slither their way into secular areas to try and control the hearts and minds of society. After all that I have now discovered about Scientology, the South Park saying is certainly ringing true:

"C'mon Jews, show them who really runs Hollywood"

I may have opened up another can of worms there. ;)

Thanks in advance, Will!

Let me put it like this...

If you're gullible enough to fall for the tricks in the church of scientology, it probably means two things.

1. You want help or answers but not from the main stream.

2. You will believe many things without any actual evidence.

My chiropractor is a christian dude that only cares about keeping me in alignment. It's funny we should be talking about it because I went to him yesterday for the first time since April. After dealing so much blackjack over the past two weeks (the busiest in the year), I definitely needed an adjustment. He's helped me a lot before. But he's not trying to "up-sell" me with crystals, or fucking power of suggestion magnet bullshit, or telling me that the work he's doing for me will improve my IQ.

YOU have to make the distinction between the scientifically rational and those living with major delusions of grandeur. There are so many of each.

The delusional type tend to wind up at every pyramid scheme. They are the bread and butter of MLMs (Multi-Level Marketing), just like my parents.

Amway, Equinox, Super Blue-Green Algae, anything with Kevin Trudeau, pills you put in your gas tank to get more MPG, Long Distance phone schemes, etc...

Those are just some of the ones I remember my parents trying to get into. It's so stupid. And every time they believe they are going to make a million dollars from it. And they only want to hear exactly what they want to hear. Not just my parents, but many others just like them.

And none need any proof. They just "know" how great it is.

It's very sad.

Good job and best wishes, TS.

Luckily Scientology is fucked because they can't control the internet and all that Xenu-stuff no matter how hard they try.

This is the part that frightens me because it seems as though we are in an era where conspiracies aimed toward the mainstream/traditional (e.g., corporate pharmaceutical greed) are making the situation ripe for groups like Scientology to reel in the unsuspecting. Basically, they are wolves in sheep's clothing; a supposed savior but yet another villain. And the situation is complicated even further when the wolf in sheep's clothing puts on yet another guise in the form of a front group.

Didn't Scientology begin their "takeover" of Clearwater, Florida under the alias of "United Churches of Florida"?

God only knows how many assumed to be innocent/secular groups have piled on "outfits" to the point where any trace of Scientology is practically inextricable. Will, can you provide any insight into what disciplines/trades have been infiltrated or DESIRE to be infiltrated by Scientology? Hell, it's probably all of them. lol

P.S. -- Back to the Paranormal-Chiro-Quackery for a second. They seem to be in cahoots with a vitamin and supplement company called "Standard Process," (which also has shady origins). It has recently been brought to my attention that any product/service with the words "standard" or "source" in it are considered by Scientologists to be cue words meant to give the assurance of a Scientology-"friendly" purchase.

Can you confirm this?

The church itself doesn't have that many front groups. But many scientologists start businesses using Hubbard's advise. Most of them can be found in the group called W.I.S.E. (World Institute of Scientology Enterprise).

For example...

There is a software company in Colorado called "Fowler Software Design".

It is owned by a scientologist named Rex Fowler.

Rex is an OT level 7.

And as of 1 week ago, Rex is suspected of shooting an ex-employee to death before shooting himself.

Rex isn't dead though. And it looks as though he's going to make a full recovery. Yay fail!

Here is the link.

Hail Xenu!

WTF- Scientology? Had an Interview at Fowler Software Design in Denver... - Page 2 - Teton Gravity Research Forums

Heh.

Here's an interesting forum thread which was started by someone who interviewed for a position at Rex Fowler's company, was interrogated Sci-Fi style, aggravated the interviewer and then walked out.

The thread was made last year simply to describe the weirdness of the interview but was now resurrected by someone who caught wind of the recent homicide/suicide so as to be the first to tell this former job candidate that he "...dodged a bullet." lol

LMAO that is priceless! Dodged a bullet indeed!

Oh mercy. Thanks for that one.

As far as I'm concerned, an individual Scientologist's business probably won't be too far off from a Scientology front group considering their relentless pressure to evangelize and expand.

However, back to the question of vitamins and supplements... you have done the purification rundown. Considering the entrepreneurial nature of Scientology, there is no doubt in my mind that they engage in "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" methods when it comes to promoting vitamin/supplement brands. Soooo...

What companies/brands are in obvious cahoots with Scientology? Is the vitamin company I mentioned in a previous post ("Standard Process") one of them?

Thanks.

I have no idea. It sounds like them. I know that there are vitamin companies owned by scientologists. But I don't know which ones.

And I did the purification rundown twice. Once when I was 13 or 14 and again when I was 18 in the Sea Org.

I tried to locate a website that could provide a catalog of vitamins/supplements endorsed or approved by Scientology.

At this point I would be happy to find a website of ANY approved products that go beyond Scientology literature and Bridge Publications.

While I realize it is difficult to establish the difference between a legit company that just happens to be run by a Scientologist and a company that aims to benefit/fund/propagate Scientology... with all the experience you have had in the organization, I would assume you could enlighten us on this topic.

Hell, when I was a little kid and saw Dianetics commercials, I didn't have the slightest clue it was related to Scientology because they didn't make it obvious (I was a kid so I didn't give a shit, anyway). Similarly, there HAVE to be other products/services that don't SCREAM Scientology but those who know "just know."

Forgive me if I seem like I am belaboring the point, but the more heat that comes down on groups like Scientology, the more they are going to have to disguise their practices, to the point where we could very well unknowingly be supporting them with ordinary purchases. Ya know?
