I’m worried for Max Holloway

TS is slorpin on that Georgian stuff now, nothing to read into any further.

Saying you're not impressed is one thing,
This is all I'm saying... not impressed.

Don't think Max is top tier anymore. I think he's on his way out.

Doesn't diminish his achievements or victories. I just think Ilia is a sharper striker and will give Max the business come fight night.

lmfao you're outta line. Arnold allen hadn't lost in the UFC and is younger than max. Decision or not that's an amazing win.
I don't know about amazing, but it was a solid win for sure.

Still don't think he will defeat Ilia.

He is only 32. He has atleast another decade of doing this.
Max will become Tony Ferguson overnight. He's absorbed an unreal amount of damage. No way he isn't getting knocked out for fun if he's still fighting at 42.

Outmatched hahaha. Topuria almost got KO'd by Jai Herbert.

Yeah, sure.

Max just looked as good as ever in his last fight.

You are afraid about him because he lost -badly, yes- against Volk's (who one could argue is the FW greatest) masterpiece.

And against Poirier at 155 (how do you think Ilia would do against fucking Poirier?)

Oh, yes, and against McGregor 11 YEARS AGO.

Max will decision him or get a late TKO.

All these people talking shit...

you were the same ones who were worried for Max before the Justin fight... but all of a sudden just because certain circumstances led to Justin getting ko'd now he's invincible again?

If you are not the slightest bit worried for Max you're being ignorant

Saying Volk is over the hill because he got knocked out seems rather unfair. No one thought Volk was over the hill coming into the fight.

The logic is that he was knocked out by Islam and now he is damaged goods doesn't make that much sense tbh. Topuria is the hardest hitter at FW, why can't it just be he knocked out Volk because he hits really hard?
real fact is we dont know where Volk is considering his hasty decision to face Islam therefore not be in tune had him all sorts of wrong after such a headlock and if it wasnt him aging overnight then it was reduced confidence or the inability to respond to a loss properly, in the case of his 2nd consecutive KO against Ilia.

fact is him being 35 and the known record of what it does to fighters statistically means he likely is over the hill or just not as good anymore bc a prime Volk would never be caught in the situations that he was, against his previous two opponents.

i hope i am wrong as i love the fighter and he he is the same fighter, his chin is definitely gone.

Max has little to lose. Hes the old weathered dog that knows he has one last rodeo. He aint gonna look to out grapple Ilia . He lanky, hes heavy, and he's already been wrecked before

I mean seriously, he has had such an illustrious career but he’s fighting on borrowed time. He’s 32 and we all know what happens to the smaller fighters after age 32.

He’s a nice guy so I don’t want to see him hurt. He really looks outmatched against Topuria. I mean Topuria just KO’d the guy he lost 3 times against. 3 times he fought Volk and didn’t have an answer and Topuria just KO’d him in 2 rounds. It was like he was playing with his food and then finally he decided to stop giving Volk hope and bam… knocks him out. Brutally. Viciously.

I really don’t see a path to victory for Max here. He’s outmatched in the stand up and ground. He’s pretty much done for.

I just hope Topuria takes it easy on him.. rocks him and then submits him on the ground. I don’t want to see yet another UFC legend flat knocked out on the UFC canvas with his ass up.
Playing with his food? You do realize volk won round one on all the scorecards. He wasn’t playing with his food. He backed Volk up against the cage and then threw a punch volk didn’t see coming. All credit to topuria as he is a great fighter, but he wasn’t playing with his food. Also Volk was coming off a vicious ko 3 months prior. Not enough time to heal and you cant deny that didn’t have an effect on his chin for that fight. I’m not saying that wouldn’t have happened had he not been ko’d just before that but it had to have an effect on him.

While Ilia did KTFO Volk, Volk probably should've never been in there 4 months after the Islam KO. Idk how much that fight really tells us about Ilia vs Max.

I think Max can strike with him, but Ilia has a solid submission game too... It's a tough matchup but I hope Max can pull it off.

32? That’s generally a fighters prime lol, and Max has looked better than he ever has. You’re acting like he’s 35. Illia couldn’t finish Emmett but he’s going to finish Max who had an iron chin? Who just outclassed and KOed Justin? Just because Volk who actually was getting there in age got KOed after being brutally KOed 4 months earlier doesn’t provide any evidence at all for Max to be KOed. Max by late TKO, or decision. Illias has never faced anyone with Max’s striking, durability, cardio, and size and reach. Max hs also shown improved power in his last two fights

eh people were worried about gaethje killing max too

anything can happen in a fight.

They can both finish each other or cruise to a UD

The biggest concern isn’t Ilia himself, but the weight cut, especially after just moving up to 155 lbs. Historically, that’s been a risky move, particularly when facing a heavy hitter like Ilia.

Ideally, Max would've developed his outside game more by now, but we all know he’ll need to close the distance to stand a chance.
What? Max has the advantage on the outside with his height, Illias the one who’s going to have to close the distance. Max could easily pitter patter to a decision if he doesn’t

I think you forget that he’s hawaiian. He’s got those crazy thick bones. Like Mark Hunt
