I’m worried for Max Holloway

Borrowed time? He’s looked better than he’s ever looked and is 32 lol. He’s got Hawaiian bone structure and genes too. Ilia isn’t taking Max down, and Max is far from a slouch in the ground himself. The only thing you are right about is Max having nothing to lose, but he’s still 100% in his prime. He just outclassed Justin for 5 rounds and knocked him out

I heavily favor Holloway, I think he wins by lopsided decision. Too accurate and fought so many top fighters. Topuria hasn't faced enough top guys yet, Emmet by decision (who is older and much slower than Holloway) and Volk are his best wins by far, he just hasn't been tested enough. Probably would have lost against Herbert with a different ref who freaks out too easily, although I'm happy it didn't get stopped, but just saying a different ref and you never know.

Holloway might win by finish in later rounds but it depends how good Topuria's chin is and how much he can take it because he is gonna be getting hit tons and tons and constantly, yup I'm flipping the chin convo, everyone talking about Holloways chin lol its cute, but I think after fight night the convo will be more will Topuria's chin hold up as he is gonna be getting taking 4-5 shots for every 1 he tries to throw.

Yes Ilia is miles ahead of a rather overrated JG but his fight IQ and judgement of distance along with his chin is going to be a substantial advantage in taking on an inexperienced Ilia, who's biggest win is a way over the hill Volk.

Tis the fight business. More often than not, these guys will go until they eat a bad loss or two. It's just the way it goes. It's not really concerning until he gets to Tony or Chuck territory where it's clear the chin is gone, and they still won't relent.

He’s a nice guy so I don’t want to see him hurt. He really looks outmatched against Topuria. I mean Topuria just KO’d the guy he lost 3 times against. 3 times he fought Volk and didn’t have an answer and Topuria just KO’d him in 2 rounds. It was like he was playing with his food and then finally he decided to stop giving Volk hope and bam… knocks him out. Brutally. Viciously.

I really don’t see a path to victory for Max here. He’s outmatched in the stand up and ground. He’s pretty much done for.

I just hope Topuria takes it easy on him.. rocks him and then submits him on the ground. I don’t want to see yet another UFC legend flat knocked out on the UFC canvas with his ass up.

The man in your Avatar is turning 34 in a few months. He seems to be doing fine.

But usually 34-36 the wheels fall of quickly for these light weights.

Max has some miles on that body so I believe he will fall off quickly in the next two years.

It was a joke...everyone brings up GSP tapping to strikes--fewer people mention the Shogun so it is less effective. Personally, I don't give a shit if people tap to strikes. If you are trouble, and not fully with it, that is the proper thing to do.

Saying Volk is over the hill because he got knocked out seems rather unfair. No one thought Volk was over the hill coming into the fight.
