How would Dustin VS Illia play out?

I live in Canada, but I wasn’t born here bro, I grew up behind that iron curtain, we’re a different kind of white people.
Obviously a trashier people if your going to spit in someone's face over a sherdog comment.

Murdering Volk, Max and Charles in a row is completely bonkers. All 3 of them are/where still top fighters. Volk won his last fight at featherweight and his next fight at featherweight, sandwiched by Topuria slumping him to sleep like he was putting down a sick dog.

Charles was coming off beating the shit out of Chandler and out classing him everywhere the fight went. Before that he went to a controversial split decision with #1 Arman. He is still clearly one of the best. Couldn't survive a single round.

Max was coming off a masterclass 5 round performance against Gaethje and arguably the biggest win of his career. Topuria fought him with complete disregard and wrecked him.

When you say "4 really good MMA wins" three of those are absolute best in the world names you can get at the time he fought them. That is extraordinarily rare to the point I cannot think of anything comparable in anyone elses career.

145/155 has - by the numbers - much more depth compared to 205lbs. This is setting aside the average age, demonstrable skill level and athleticism is hilariously low in the upper weight divisions by comparison.

It is much easier to put together name brand wins at 205 compared to 145/155, and Pereira went 1-1 with his best win at middleweight getting scary knocked out.

Pereira went 1-1 with Izzy and went to sleep. He then moved up and went to a controversial decision with Jan. He has some fine wins from there, but its almost a joke to compare this to undefeated Topriua, IMO.

I'm only slightly disagreeing with you. I agree Topuria is awesome, and what he has done is absolutely amazing. It's just not enough for me yet to put him in goat categories, but he's certainly on the quick road there. It's hard for me to ignore that there's a certain element of great timing on some of his key wins. Volk had just gotten elbow surgery, just head kick ko'ed up a weight class, cut weight back down to 145lbs, was 35 in a division that had never seen a champ that age, and was going through a very public mental health and alcohol abuse issue all within like 4-5 months leading into that ilia fight. Volk may have regained the belt after ilia won, but not against the next guy in line -- evloev. It was a good win vs lopez, but nothing indicative of volk still being prime volk -- more like an aging great fighter that is still good enough to be relevant despite slowing. Emmet was like 37 and just murdered by Yair when he fought ilia. Charles is awesome, but the guy is old and very long in the tooth. I love charles and he's still a very dangerous guy, but do you really think we've seen peak charles recently? the guy's had like 50 fights, and I think we both know beating Chandler doesn't mean much these days.

Still, they're all very good fighters even now and knocking out any form of these guys is amazing. I'm just saying, I do not believe they were at their peak and I need more than a few amazing wins by ilia before I start talking about someone being a goat. It sounds like I'm shit talking ilia, but it's hard to ignore the timing of some of those wins, and it isn't really revisionist history as I was saying similar things even before Ilia fought these guys. A couple more wins over contenders and I'll be there with you.

I would do it more so for that reason than any other, can’t think of anyone who deserves it more than little turds who talk shit behind their keyboards like you.

Fair - this is also in the milieu of an undefeated 9-0 UFC run with 7 stoppages. The two decisions are an absolute lopsided ass beating for Emmet and a short notice UFC debut. Topuria's finish rate is ridiculous.

He's faced guys as tricky as Hall during his run and Bryce at 15-0 with 6 straight UFC wins. Vok > Max > Charles covers a really broad spectrum of MMA skills and those fights we're fundamentally not competitive. He fought the best guys in the world with zero respect on repeat.

GOAT talk in general is really absurd because as you say, so much is related to timing and strength of schedule. However I do feel there are clearly guys best of their generation, and Topuria is unequivocally one of the best fighters in the world right now - of any weight division. To the point he casually won a second belt as though it was barely an effort.

Topuria x Arman is what I hope we get next... hard to say with what shite bookings the UFC has been organizing.

You seem to act like the big tough guy on Sherdog more than anyone else I've come across. Doubt I would have much to fear from you, anyone who has ever done any training learns Martial Arts is about respect. As far as I can tell your just a goof. Easy to be tough with anonymity.

And you would do nothing.

He only would have a punchers chance now but I think if this fight takes place against the dustin of 2018-2021 he'd a have a decent enough chance that most people wouldn't call it a massive upset. He's southpaw, carries power, really strong cardio and embraces dog fights.
