You and Goater are coming across stupid here. There are genetic freaks and just because you haven't seen one doesn't mean they don't exist. You can only speak for yourself and those you've witnessed, yet you speak for everyone.
I’ve trained with a lot of people over the years. University football teams, soccer players, MMA athletes, including 7 UFC fighters, 3 NHL athletes, cyclists, bodybuilders, powerlifters, hammer throwers, Olympic athletes, etc. Worked with many coaches, including an NBA and an MLB strength & conditioning coach (2 different men). Never mind BJJ in Brazil (with numerous gold medalists), Muay Thai in Thailand etc. Many, many coaches. No. I suppose I haven’t trained with every athlete on earth, but I would submit I have an extremely broad range of experience over many years and many disciplines, and thus have a very accurate idea of what goes on. Probably much better than most.
One of my best friends is in the UFC now.
Another of my best friends is a Guinness record holding strength athlete.
EDIT: I will also note, when training with all those people, we talk. For example, every one of those NHL players advised that everyone in the NHL is on gear. And during those types of discussions, the athletes always laugh about the fact that the masses think high-level athletes are clean.
So... do you have better experience?
I’m not trying to condescend. Legit question.
Perhaps my 20+ years of direct involvement have steered me wrong.
EDIT: What is the extent of your own sports involvement? I suppose that might be a threshold question for someone who says I am coming across as stupid?
