How special was Mirko Cro Cop?

Being a Fedor and Minotauro fan, I never rated crocop in that league. Obviously a gifted fighter, but never the best or even second.

Based on perception only because he lost to Nog when he was green on the ground, but officially, the rankings back them had him #2 after he won the OWGP. He was in that league.

"Mirko was unable to go undefeated forever and thus he was was overrated."

Another shertard. Amazing.
I didn't say he was unable to go undefeated, you're putting words in my mouth. Looks like you got offended with the very word "overrated." Again he was a good fighter but he fought fighters who didn't belong in ring with him. This topic has been done to death.

DONT BOTHER REPLYING
I DONT WANT TO DEFEND MY OPINIONS
Come on, man. This topic has been done death. Both sides of the coin wont give in so it's never ending urubolous.

Name one fighter from that era who didn't fight guys who didn't belong in the ring with them. This is why they fought like 8x per year. That doesn't mean they were "overrated"

Overrated would mean people refer to Mirko as the GOAT or top 3 HW of all time etc.

You're welcome.

I can tell you're just looking to argue, have fun with that.

You suck for this thread because I feel like posting a thread like this in 2023 is just not a good idea. While Sherdog forums has always had peanut brained idiots, nowadays, you have all these babies who started watching MMA a few years ago acting like experts and ignorantly commenting on topics they have no business talking about.

However, thank you for giving respect to Cro Cop because I feel like he's actually a forgotten legend nowadays. Goes without saying that he was one of a kind and super inspirational to so many fighters. Also have seen countless fans cite Cro Cop as the reason they're fight fans. I hope to see him get inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame someday. I see how much it means to fighters such as Jens Pulver and others... I'm not sure if Cro Cop is the type to really care about that kind of stuff lol, but I still think it would be a nice moment to honor him/his career.

Nogueira fought plenty of cans like Zulu, Yokoi, Kikuta, Kanahera, Labasanov, Kochkine, Schroeder and Dodd.

You only came up with one example and not a very good one at that contradicting your own stupid theory about Mirko being "overrated" with no basis.

Next time do the knowledge.

Mirko CroCop Overrated.

Typical shertard and UFC fanboy behavior.

Make claim.

Fail at backing the claim.

Make claim again after getting slapped with facts.

You can back to your video games now.
Video games? Wtf. Lol.

I'm watching the PFL because I'm a fan of MMA.

Mirko Cro Cop is overrated, your welcome. ;)

Why did you say anything then? You think the millions (and millions) of Crocop supporters just gonna let you ride on through?

As much of a fedor fan I was, I always loved watching mirko fight. Great fighter. Legend.

This right here is a classic example of the MMA fan ignorance I hate. He simply looks at Cro Cop's record, and has probably never or barely even seen any of his fights, and concludes that his amount of head kick KOs is "not really that insane"... Yet he comments on Cerrone dropping Iaquinta with a front kick in their fight and Wonderboy finishing Hendricks with a combo that included a kick...

Cro Cop head kicked the likes of Mark Hunt (knockdown, contributing to the win), Ismael Londt (knockdown, contributing to the win), Remy Bonjasky (in the long finishing sequence), Minotauro Nogueira (dropped him, the classic saved by the bell moment in their fight), Peter Aerts (clinch fest, Mirko's big head kicks were likely the difference)... and I can go on too, there are actually A LOT more... on top of all of his finishes via head kick. People on here still just looking at records and not actually watching fights. Please, just watch fights before commenting. His head kicks contributed to so many of his knockdowns in kickboxing, and so many of his wins in general.

EDIT: Not to mention, if you simply look at the result of the fight on a record, it may not even say what exactly led to the finish. I'm not sure how this person counted 9 because I just looked at his record and I count more than 9, probably because I've seen all his fights while this person is just looking at a record. You may see on Wikipedia TKO (3 knockdowns) but the first knockdown was via head kick and he never recovered (Mike Bernardo) or TKO (punches and soccer kicks) yet he rocked him with a head kick and immediately got the finish after (Ron Waterman)... it's no different on Tapology as well. And again, this is only a couple examples, there are more. The point remains. Watch fights.

All of Mirko's LHK's are a work of art, that should be painted and hung in the premier museums of the world. That is why he is known for his high kicks even though plenty of MMA fighters win with them, theirs arent as good as Mirko's. They dont have the leg flexibility, nor the sound barrier shattering snap. The follow up punch with no wasted movement. Wiki-babies cant understand these things.

It was a FEARED weapon in all the fights wether he threw it or not, because almost every time it meant an instant end of the fight. It was his trademark and all anticipated its coming in fear and RESPECT
