What makes it shady? Here its called the projects. Low income apartment complexes that have mostly poor minorities. High crime, vandalism, drugs, and no respect for the property. They are given to them by the government for peanuts. Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, all grew up in them.

I bet his project is safer because east europe not have the crime or gun rates of US

I live in PA, specifically Philly.

I'm 28 and my current salary is $98,000, no raises, but I get a yearly bonus (haven't received it yet but I was told it is anywhere from 0% to 15%). Started this job in the beginning of 2021.

FWIW I have a lot of student debt (about $55,000 left of the original $110k). I messed up in school lol, took way too many loans for undergrad/grad school. I also have a mortgage. Other than these big monthly costs, I try to live a relatively frugal life.

Everything is relative. What do you own, and what do you have saved?

Over 305, base salary high 200s, bonus at 15%, and I Airbnb my beach house at 800/night peak season 400/night off peak, which brings in a lot of money. My wife pulls in another 100+ from her job and selling houses on referral. We live in Boston where everything for sale is over 500k within a 20 mile radius so a few sales a year is solid commission for part time work.

We're "old"..

I'd also factor in a lot of troll posts.. also this subject will naturally attract people who gives a shit about income..

Most of us are men, the median age seems to be between 30-40.. some of us are in managagement (poor souls being managed), have our own businesses, or having some kind of education i'm not surprised some of us are doing ok.. but the 300k+ is a bit fucky..

Was expecting more like 100k median..

Good on the balling sherbros though..

Oh I know that some on here do actually make more than that, I was just wondering what percentage were likely to be lying.

I'd say the average age is more like 45. Most seem around my age of early 40's with some much older and a few younger but most younger seem to have gone over to various forms of social media rather than sherdog.

13% of respondents make over 305K? I wonder if it is true, and if is representative of Sherdog? About 1/7 of Sherdog is sitting pretty. They better start putting ads for expensive cars and such.

Is it per person, or household income? Cause $92,000 jobs are not many.

Also, I think alot of ppl come from the poorer provinces to alberta to work and send money back etc.

I think that's per household in Alberta. But if you're working up in the oil sands, 92k/year is 1st year apprentice wages. My last year up there (2015) I made 160k+ for the year.

Really needed to specify at the outset whether it's before-tax or after-tax.

Thats great. If an American came there with say 500k could they retire at 40?
It depends.

First of all if you are buying an apartment/house or not. You can get something for 70k or you can pay 1M or way more for a house.

Doing quick maths.. between girlfriend and I in a month we spend about:
200 usd on rent
60 usd on services (internet, electricity, etc)
100 usd on food (including going out a few times)

And about 150 more in random stuff (buying clothes, gym fees, bike repairs, etc).

I think we close around 500 usd at month paying rent on a nice and very safe neighborhood for a 430 sqf with a balcony.

Doing the maths.. 6k at year.. let's say 7 counting vacations? Yeah.. I think 500k can take you pretty far here for a while.

Of course if you are not frugal you can spend a shit ton.

This last year 52k base, some OT(but nowhere near pre-Covid still), and bonus
.I'd say 60k give or take.

2 years ago I was an active duty military SNCO (E-8) managing 180 people and I was happy to make 80K (including housing allowance). Since retirement I work for a massive defense contractor and make 195K managing 3 people and only work 4 days a week. Feel like I paid my dues and am still blown away by my quality of life now. Hard work and integrity do pay off eventually.
