Yea, I'm a softy. That's with working roughly 3 days overtime every 4 weeks . No idea how long the overtime will be there for .

What do you/gf do for a living then?

Fuck working overtime. Like 40 hours a week isn't enough.

Admittedly I'm rather inebriated but how's the missus going dude? I keep hearing this terrible stuff on the gossip line on Sherdog :-(

I do, honestly hope she is doing better than when I last heard a couple of days ago.

Ah, I'm on a 4 day week so it's not too bad.

Thanks for yours and other's concern. It looks like I'm getting her home eventually pretty much normal thankfully , at least mentally. It looked like she had a big stroke originally but after numerous scans, blood tests etc it looks like that's not the case. No apparent brain damage .Her mind seems to have cleared again , she can communicate normally again now , verbally and written ( the last has taken a few days). Physically she's weak currently, was hooked up to numerous IVs last night pumping various meds into her.

Still no definitive answer as to what caused the initial seizure or none that I've been told by her or the doctors. Of course getting to speak to a doctor currently is difficult....I believe she's staying in hospital for at least another couple of days .

Thanks folks , hug your loved ones. X

Really glad to hear that mate :D

Hope she makes a full recovery physically as well. Getting older really sucks but it beats the alternative I guess.

Best wishes and all that.

10.3% of vote at over 305k. I guess with an older demographic and after an equities boom post 2008 it's certainly possible.

Congrats fellow Sherdoggersa, happy to see we're ballin and experiencing the good life.

Kind of a weird year for me. I'd been running my own business (I'm the only employee) for the past 3 years in recruitment. I stopped doing the high volume shit, and was able to keep roughly 70% of my earnings. I was averaging ~225k after taxes/expenses. This year, I actually hit that number in June but was approached by a recently IPO biotech to join. I was made a proverbial offer I couldn't refuse, and with bonus and LTI, my # is close to 400k (I'll find out from my CPA)

yeah man taxes don’t get you anything. What a completely dumb thing to say.
I don’t know if there is a dumber poster in all of Sherdog. I can’t tell if you are just a troll or are really the snowflake idiot behind the stupid posts you vomit. You are the epitome of why people like Trump win elections....people would rather be so opposite of people like you that they elect someone like him. Can’t wait to see the mid terms and people like you wearing vagina hats crying.

I'm in construction Project Management for the civil service and shes an area manager for the local council.

I'd get a higher wage if I went to the contractors but I like the relaxed hours in the civil service.

I work for the government so I don't make massive amounts of money but on the flipside I fuck about on here most of the day.

LOL. I live in Argentina. I make about 630 USD at month and I live comfortably.
This is my favorite post in this thread. It goes to show you how cost of living and other factors weigh in to the equation. I live just outside of NYC and make a healthy salary. My lifestyle is by no means modest but far from exorbitant. Bills seem to find themselves at a level I can just keep up with. The cost of gas an ever rising price of food push the boundaries of the challenge. I pay about 100 bucks per week in gas. One tote of groceries will set you back around 60 and that covers a meal and a half. If you're buying paper towels, add another 20. Then there is the cost of housing. While the bill is predictable, the threshold to get in to the market is huge. Entry level housing will cost around 500K and that is a fixer upper that will need a few hundred thousand poured into it. Let's hope next year the robber barons who pull the strings decide to dole out some raises so us peons can survive. Two years with no change and inflation hurt.
At a fraction of the salary, you are a richer man than I. (absolutely no sarcasm intended)

You and me would sit on the opposite side of the table.. or in a good world discuss how to make the most out of your budget..

Yeah. It's not how much you make but how much you need.

I'm not a big fan of technology and my hobbies are pretty cheap (gym and biking). Don't need a car since I live pretty much downtown.

Difference here is that since we have like 50% of inflation we get salary adjustments like 3 times at year. It makes it harder keep your savings (basically you have to buy foreign currency) but at least you manage to keep your lifestyle.

Yeah man but taxes get you nothing right? Roads and schools don’t exist and the million other things they pay for don’t exist right man.

you’re a clown

As a union electrician GF I bring in around 150k working maybe 1/4 of Saturdays. Granted it's Chicago so cost of living g is a little higher but I live in North West Indiana to off set that a little.

If you add up my worked income, and capital growth/income on my house, investments, and super I would be over $305k after tax for the year.
