100 plus years later this question shouldn't be asked anymore.

I think we are downplaying what he has done, sadly. Many of us didn’t think he would beat Ben, definitely not Woodley and Silva. At some point we have to look in the mirror. Was this something we just learned (MMA guys getting beat up by a guy that just took up the sport), or was our expectation just completely off?
Why should it end? It has no bearing on legitimate profeasional boxing, and is overall good for the sport of boxing. Think of all the people that got paid on the Jake Paul card.
That's like asking "why do comedy movies exist? We should only have oscar-seeking drama movies!"
Bunch of clowns trying to gatekeep boxing.
QFTGimmick fights have been around for decades (really, centuries). It might fall out of fashion for a while, but it will never go away completely.
Bieber's the one to K.O Jake...for the beltBeiber hasn't even fought yet.
Bieber's the one to K.O Jake...for the belt
it's always been around only now, there are so many other avenues to stir shit up. There were always the "all in" or circus type fights, always fighters going across styles, dempsey fought wrestlers and Joe Louis did wrestling after boxing. As long as fighters fight for money and old fighters with a name need money, it'll happen. It's undignified for sure and it's pretty stupid in many cases. With Ali, you had a multimillion dollar property and your risking that with some nobody from Japan. They say Ali was facing amputation after the inoki fight. As if he wasn't taking enough damage in boxing. Others say that exhibition permanently hastened his decline in the legs department. Then.., get this, most stupid of all, he has to fight Ken Norton for the third time only a few short months later, his toughest opponent. How long before the profit bubble pops? When will people get wise to the gimmick and when will promoters like Jake Paul stop making money from these shitty entertainment events?
Correction: Retired MMA fighters who don’t care about a boxing record are getting paid the biggest payday of their life to lose to a popular YouTuber.A Youtuber is wrecking MMA fighters in combat sports.
What a sucker you are. Wake the fuck up. You’re the exact demographic these shit shows are for. You and every other 14 year old.OP genuinely believes Askren, Woodley (x2, one occasion allowed himself to be knocked cold), Silva and Diaz all took dives. Lol.
Serious question: whether he has good coaches or not, do you think Jake is a good boxer? What do you think of his technique, his footwork, his reflexes? He looks terrible to me. Like a beginner. Not even amateur.Isn't that because Jake was wealthy and able to hire the best coaches? Now he works hard and has some grit, has to, doesn't mean he deserves respect for beating up physically shot smaller MMA fighters looking for a paycheck. He picks carefully.

That’s a good policy.I noted above I've never watched a celebrity boxing match and I never will. I've only seen brief highlights. From what I hear via podcasts he is very disciplined and works hard to be whatever it is he is.
he's not good, he telegraphs and he's slow, he can get away with those flaws. Fury wasn't much better but he was able to beat him. I'm sure he could beat most mma fighters if it's just boxing. He's doing the smart thing and not fighting good boxers.Serious question: whether he has good coaches or not, do you think Jake is a good boxer? He's okay for a guy with ZERO amateur experience and only three years of boxing trainingSerious question: whether he has good coaches or not, do you think Jake is a good boxer? What do you think of his technique, his footwork, his reflexes? He looks terrible to me. Like a beginner. Not even amateur.
