How intelligent is Joe Rogan?

I have no idea, because I don't know if he actually believes the B.S. spouted on his show or is acting like it may be true because it is good ratings for him.

So I voted above average.

Joe likes to be informed. He has a curious mind. I like that. IQ is something you are born with. Joe, like myself, likely has an average IQ.

spreads lies, arguing with a doctor even when he's proven wrong -that should tell you all you need to know.

But I guess you could say genius because he knows what is going to "sell"

He's smart enough to be incredibly successful at a couple of things that dumb people cant succeed at. He's a curious guy, and can make interesting conversations with people that know more than him on subjects, if not being outright smarter than he is. I doubt he'd be a Jeopardy champ, but he's likely more intelligent than anyone who thinks he's dumb.

He's average I'd say. Modern Joe's problem is that there could be 99 experts who say something is one way, but the 1 random crackpot that Joe "heard about" will be his sole source. He used to want to have guests on to learn and have, but now he has an agenda most of the time. For year he said he would never have a presidential candidate on, then a week before the election, he has Trump, and half of his future cabinet on.

Joe Rogan is supposed to be an expert at martial arts with close to 40 years of working knowledge in the field -- practicing, commentating, analyzing -- yet he still believed that Rhonda Rousey could defeat about 50% of the male bantamweights in the UFC.

And this is the subject he's supposed to be an authority in. If he can bungle martial arts that badly, what about subjects he's less informed on?

Says a lot.

Borderline exceptionally smart.
In his case I think his fame may be partly because he happened to be in the right place at the right time. And having energy and drive may, or may not, be classified as intelligence depending on how you define it.
But the podcast alone takes quite a lot of intelligence to run. And I mean just the on air-stuff. Anyone thinking Rogan occasionally sounds stupid in conversation should be aware your IQ effectively drops fifteen points in a live(ish) interview situation.

Eloquence is often confused with intelligence, especially by those whose mind is easily "blown". Rogan might have been above average at some point, but all the drugs he took (and the use of which he advocates so much, which should already tell you how smart he is) fried his brain.

I say below average. He has enough "experts" on his show that he just parrots what they say without doing any research of his own. It's not as bad lately, but he used to constantly post stupid shit that was obviously fake and photoshopped, but he couldn't tell the difference by himself.

Do you have any idea how stupid the average person is?

So Rogan can do some stuff that others can't. Is that your point?

Yes it takes a certain set of skills to keep a conversation interesting for 3 hours. It also takes a certain set of skills to be a good doctor, dentist, painter, plumber etc... I can do some shit Rogan can't, Rogan can do some shit that i cant. You can probably do some shit that i can't.

It's called being different from eachother.

I don't know Joe well enough to call him a moron, but average level seems fair.
Joe knows how to make money, that gives him more respect than 99.99 % of the population.

He’s self made, and high in the totem pole, and many will undermine him. A lot of delusional people will think they are smarter than Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, or Elon musk, simply by calling them morons, by default self promoting…. Basically a lot of folks with superiority complex, that need to devalue someone to self elevate. Without power and money, you still won’t get any respect. <Fedor23>

I used to think this was a tired topic. It’s actually very interesting. The answers here demonstrate the intelligence levels of the viewers more than it does Rogan

Or lack of intelligence.

He's not smart. He's just ambitious and social and funny and organized and curious and good at martial arts and can multitask real well.

Rogan is quite a controversial figure nowadays. I thought he was quite intelligent 3-4 years ago.

Not anymore, he seems like just one of the sheep now.

Extrenely intelligent that's why he can talk so many different things and get the gigs he does with intelligent people in control.
