How insane is the future going to be?

I really hope I live long enough to see the ninth inning...I think it might happen in the next 20 years, and if that’s the case, I have a good shot at seeing IT, WHATEVER IT ..IS..

This is another thing I dont think most people truly grasp. In the near future we will have an AI so advanced, that that AI can turn around and upgrade its self to a more advanced/powerful AI. It will become a repeating cycle of AI creating a more advanced version of its self, until it is indistinguishable from a God.

We just need to get that first version there. Humanity is holding a match above an ocean of gasoline, and the match is getting closer and closer..
You dont even know.gif go fuck yourself.gif

I fully expect to see the end of all this. Or our transition. Nick Bostrom has written papers on this shit, the great filter looms in our lifetime.

I truly believe that disclosure of extraterrestrial life will happen before 2030 due to our first confirmed visual sightings of exoplanets.

I'm looking forward to the day women feel liberated enough to rape men.
total stranger at knifepoint ? As riding some drunk guy who passed out at a party, has happened many times.

People getting offended and rules being changed for those people.

Being able to choose your own gender.

Kids failing in school but advancing to the next grade level anyway so they won't feel bad.

You're not allowed to talk to a woman anymore because that's harassment.

I don't even want to think about how fucked our planet is going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if some day eating meat is illegal.

I'd like a hot and realistic sex robot that won't kill me or #metoo me if I don't satisfy her (it).

But you will always need a mechanic to fix the robots that malfunction and upkeep. Eventually you will need more and more people for those jobs as the demand for robots and productivity increases.

I think humans will still have a role but it will just change.

Robots will repair robots bud.

Nobody has done a good job in predicting the future.

that mcveteran81 was going to like this post in the future.

I get the feeling you guys won't have to wait too long for that to happen. With the amount of *soft* disclosure(s) that have been done, I would bet you guys to get that answer before 2020.

The left will destroy Western civilization before AI.

With real A.I there will be robots fixing robots. Hell there will be even robots improving/designing new robots.

Yup. Robots to fix robots and on and on. AI will have the ability to do practically any task or profession.

Surgery, Attorney, Accountant, Engineer. Every sector will be affected by AI.

Scared and equally excited to see what is coming.

I will say this...I work for a major auto manufacturer. Several lines are going driverless in under 5 years. Most cars will be electric in 10 years. Petroleum is over.

Well kind of.. Most plastics are made from petroleum so it'll be around for a while. Cars will definitely stop using gasoline and combustibles though. I imagine pretty much everything will be electric with some sort of super-batteries.

Another really cool thing I've seen lately is eye correction. They apparently have just created a new eye drop that is supposed to be able to correct your vision. In years to come, I imagine they'll do away with glasses and contacts. You'll go to an eye doctor and they'll give you some eye drops to get back to 20/20.

I'm really excited to think about all of the potential with AI. I'm thinking that in the near future we will figure out a way to have AI start solving some really complicated problems for humans. That would be another radical change in technology similar to the exponential growth after the internet. AI could solve problems like "how do we get to other galaxies instantly by manipulating the fabric of space rather than propulsion" or "how do we get rid of cancer and other diseases". The possibilities seem endless.

I think within 30 years AI is going to problem solve huge questions/mysteries in physics/quantum mechanics/etc

It is only harassment if you are ugly.

Humans will be extinct, and Cats will rule planet earth, isn't that right @Cint ?

I’m almost 30. I don’t see any significant changes. No cure for cancer and life expectancy will continue to do down; however, if there was ever a miracle cure for cancer it will never be made available and affordable to the public.

Too many people profit off the sick and dying.

Were some of those "soft disclosures" from ancient Egypt?:rolleyes:

I totally think you're right though. Seriously! In less than 24 months They will totally come out and admit that it's been a long conspiracy to hide advanced aliens from the public, and you were just too smart to fall for their lies all this time. I really wish I held your intellectual capacity. It's just so far beyond the rest of us. Good on you for not falling for their tricks. The foil hats really do work, don't they?
