How good is Conors Jujitsu/grappling skills?

The average purple belt isn’t grappling against khabib in an mma fight. Top purple belts would be embarrassed on the ground against khabib in an mma fight.

I thought we were talking about his jiu Jitsu credentials. Just because he’s used to an MMA atmosphere doesn’t make him a legitimate brown belt in bjj. I’m not talking about fighting.

I see his shorts grab skill is phenomenal. Almost looks like a bum street bitch

The only evidence you have is his mma experience. His bjj credentials are impossible to assess outside his mma fights. Most purple belts don’t even compete in bjj.

Conor is phenomenal grappler but his skills are more suited for real fighting rather than against something like leghump and cage exploit rule abuse thats unfortunately possible inside the octagon.

Hopefully he goes to kickboxing then right? Closer to a 'real' fight in your Conor turd eyes...

If Conor is grappling something went terribly wrong :D

Conor’s grappling skills are not as good as some of his fans think, but much better than his haters think.

Based off of what, fighting midgets at 145? Being allowed to constantly grab shorts, grab gloves, grab the cage, knee a downed opponent in the eye all in the Khabib fight?

Conor could have just hand cuffed Khabib to the cage and y'all would claim Khabib couldn't take him down thus Conor is a GOAT MMA grappler.

he has grappling/bjj coaches, so he is always getting trained on that aspect

He knows exactly when the panic wrestle and when to tap to avoid going to sleep

PPl that post this have never rolled a day in their life.

Khabib and Diaz are top tier MMA submission fighters. They have taped ppl with real credentials b/c they are simply that good.

Conor was able to hit a sweep on Diaz during his fight and he did remarkably better on the bottom against Khabib than most of Khabibs opponents.

Conor is no wiz on the ground but he walks into any legit BJJ gym and is competitive with most black belts at your local gym.

There are world-class Black belts then there are gym level, amateur black belts.

Example, Edd O'neil has a legit Black belt. He is not a world-beater. But still legit.

Getting a black belt does not make you some super fighter that can never lose.
It's simply a reward for years of hard work, disciple, and training. Not all athletes are equal in skill and neither are BJJ fighters.

Striking aside, how good is his jujitsu skills. I know John was the first Irish BJJ black belt and so I assume he is probably Conors original BJJ mentor. But aside from that, has he competed in grappling matches? Did he have a pure wrestling/judo/sambo/submission coach outside of BJJ?

easy none/

Based on his MMA career, his ground game is above average, but that’s it. He is 100% defensive and is non-threatening on the ground. He has good TDD and a good base/shrimping, but his pure rank of brown belt simple doesn’t “show” in the octagon. To be fair, Jon Jones was a blue belt, but combined with wrestling, he mauls people.... Yes Conor can fight, but his BJJ is very rudimentary from what we have on him.

Even his competition no-gi stuff was rudimentary. It’s not like he’s tapping guys even at the NAGA or United Gracie tournaments, both below tier competitions. He can fight and has good instinct period, I just don’t see “Brown belt” in him. Purple yeah, but that’s even more his athleticism and ease of movement; not true purple belt, legit depth. This is no knock on him as a fighter.

It’s good just no where near elite but not many are. I mean he’s been training jiu jitsu for 10 plus years.

jacob paul has better mma skills than conor at this point, conor maybe in his prime was as good as logan paul

He has 5 losses on his record and 4 of them are submission losses.

If you look at other fighters that are striker centric, Wonderboy for example he has 4 losses and none by sub.

I'd say BJJ is his weakest attribute (other than his cardio)
Your opinion is irrelevant, because you’re either dumb or lying on purpose.
Conor only has 5 loses

His BJJ looks defensive in nature, he doesn’t threaten at all. At purple belt, you should be attacking somewhat, IMO. Straight no-gi, gi or MMA, competition purples are dangerous. Conor just seems to have a good base. It’s obvious he’s just trying to survive and get into a position to throw punches as he truly doesn’t try to advance position or submit.

His brown belt looks like a “Hollywood” brown belt, the kind gifted, not earned.

so you think Mcgregor should try to attack from the bottom against someone like Khabib while getting punched in the face? The majority of BJJ Black Belts wouldn't be able to pull that off. Maybe a couple of the best BJJ guys in the world would, maybe not. Khabib is one of the best grapplers in the world.
