How good is Conors Jujitsu/grappling skills?

Please let conor go on a long undefeated streak, winning but not defending the lw and ww belt while riddled by legal problems solved out of court..

Conor and his haters truely deserve eachother.. :)

Conor apparently know the basic stuff, enough not to look like a bum
Not many grappling or jitz skills tho

Conor is phenomenal grappler but his skills are more suited for real fighting rather than against something like leghump and cage exploit rule abuse thats unfortunately possible inside the octagon.

From what I’ve seen, it’s basic. It’s good enough for most MMA positions.
You don’t need to be a 14th degree black belt in JJ to succeed

There is so much dumb in this thread

Conor is legit enough, but not some phenom/wizard. He's earned is brown and his skills/fights back that up. Tapping to Nate and Khabib is a real thing.

Kavanaugh isn't the best BJJ coach in the world, but he's still very legit as an instructor and and great coach for MMA.

Brown belt. His BJJ is underrated. It's his wrestling that isn't up to standard.

Competent yes, but there are a lot of hobbyists who train 4x per week for the last 10 years that would kill him. This is fine, except for the fact that he’s supposed to be a brown belt. I have no problem putting him at purple max, but again, there are so many 3rd-tier Jiu jitu guys who can smoke him.

He’s a blue belt with a purple belt level base and hip movement.

He’s got brown/black belt level TDD however. Now way he’s a legit brown belt in BJJ.
Based on what?

There is nothing funnier than Conor fans posting gifs from the Khabib fight, where Colon constantly cheated, to prove he has good grappling lmao.

He has good top game and he appreciates bjj. He's definitely working on this. He is not good of his back, he can defend but eventualy his opponents get him on the bad spots. He doesn't threaten submissions in his UFC.

Conor has very good grappling skills. Nate is a legit black belt
and couldn't sub him in their second fight when Conor was more
prepared. I don't think getting subbed by Khabib in the 4th rd is
anything to be ashamed of.
That Diaz couldn't sub him was rather because of their wrestling skills.

I’m far from a BJJ expert but I tend to think it’s better than most people give him credit for. Can he be out grappled? Sure, I just don’t think it’s as easy as some make it out to be. He’s a very deadly striker though, so he doesn’t have to rely on it very much.

Based on what?

Based on observation. You may obviously disagree, but he doesn’t look like a brown belt in BJJ. Highest level I’d put him at is purple, if we’re talking competition based practitioners, then he could very well be a blue belt since modern blues are so much more professional and knowledgeable compared to 10 years ago.

But again, people are saying he’s a legit brown, which does seem gifted to him as another mentioned.
