How good are the Diaz brothers?

Its disingenuous to quote me out of context. This is the post Im replying initially:

I dont think odds at the time would have Nick Diaz if matched up with some of the many wrestlers at WW. Not less favoured than Alves, Condit, Hardy, Daley or any other striking specialist you pick

To say Diaz didnt get exposed by "any credible wresler" because of match making is disingenuous as well.
If you ask me, even more so after your review considering very credible wrestlers in Sanchez and Sherk went 2 of 19 and 5 of 11 in TD attemps with a 21-22 years old Nick Diaz barely edging a controversial dec. And that Tibau got smoked

Fights with guys who tried to LnP Nick Diaz could have been boring sure. There is also a very good chance Nick catch/overwhelm them with punches, choke or outlast them by making them work in every position.Only the best of them would be favoured with prime Diaz imo, and even then he had a good chanve vs anybody not named GSP
I'm kind of shocked Diego went 2 for 19 on TDs. But they spent a lot of time grappling, and while it was fun with a lot of scrambling, he beat Diaz at that game. And Diego was also very young/green at the time.

People forget that run. They also forget MJ was a top 5 once he beat Barbosa, lost to Nate, KO'd Dustin. Pettis and Alvarez were champion. NateDiaz was a fighter who could stay for long in top 5 if he was active. If Alvarez and Pettis were champions, Nate Diaz could be as well.
yeah, I mentioned that earlier. Nate could've been LW champ under the right circumstances. The same is true for Tony Ferguson before Khabib got the belt. Nate was weird, though...beats MJ, prime Cerrone and others, but gets dominated by "split decision" Bendo and RDA...and LnP'd by Guida and head kicked to another dimension by Josh Thomson in his final MMA win.

Nick was elite in his prime. That SF run was no joke.

Nates best run as far as skills was 2011-2012 i think. He worked his way up to a titleshot and was legit the #1 LW in the world at one point so yeah.

Would have been more impressed if Nick fought guys who could wrestle in SF like Woodley and Marquardt. It was convenient he got out when he did.

Both were fairly good but never Elite Fighters. They certainly entertained people but I sometimes found their Antics annoying. Definitely memorable.

Nick maybe came a little closer to Elite status, as he did hold WEC and Strikeforce Championship belts. He had a good run in Strike Force beating some pretty good opponents. He never seemed to find his footing in the UFC.

Both Nick and Nate have some quality wins but they've also had some legendary ass Whoopins handed to them well.

Nick is far and away better than Nate. He actually accomplished a lot.

Nate's only advantage is fame.

If there was no time limits, the Diaz brothers would win almost every fight.

They're more fighters than sports figures.

So basically they're two of the GOATS.

How good were the Diaz brothers? Are they considered elite fighters in your eyes? Who would win in a fight between them?

Pretty good fighters actually and bring heat to the sport. Funny guys also. I mean, better than Conor that to be funny he needs to be disrespectful sometimes, much worse Chael who needed to be disrespectful every single time to be notorious.

More Diaz brothers and less Conors and Sonnens would be nice. UFC and USADA tried to fuck up with Nick for free, they lost money for sure. The man was incredibly good, fun to watch and funny and sincere in interviews. Bad decision.
Hold on... are you trying to say the Diaz brothers are wittier and funnier than Chael?

how many guys from strikeforce do you think fought and or won titles in the ufc.
To think strikeforce was somehow minor leagues is ridiculous.
Lol. Go to sleep son.

Actually, Strikeforce WW champ Woodley went in a long championship run in UFC.

Regarding Diaz, he was as much of a legitimate contender as any of GSPs tittle challengers. As a matter of fact,
Diaz was favoured by odds coming into his fight with UFC #1 contender Condit, which ended up in a controversial decision.
Diaz was also the favourite coming into his fight with BJ, around same odds than long time UFC #1 contender Fitch had vs the same opponent the same year. Diaz handled that same opponent much better than Fitch did.
Diaz also handled Paul Daley much better than UFC #1 contender Koshceck did. Let's remind that Daley got Koscheck his UFC tittle shot.

Its what it is. Too many noobs and forumrats pretending to have a clue in a mma forum, glutons for punishment

Nick’s UFC record 5-7-1, but should be 5-8

Nate’s UFC record 16-11

both got title fights and lost them.

i’d rate them as B level UFC fighters.

Statrat take.
I'd rate you as C level sherbro

Lol. Go to sleep son.
Strikeforce talent was just as good if not better than UFC’s at the time.

strikeforce fighters at the time UFC bought them:
DC
Cain
Overeem
Rockhold
Jacare
Nick Diaz
Bigfoot
Fedor
Dan Henderson
Cyborg
Ronda
Anthony smith
Tim Kennedy
Lawler
Shamrock
OSP
Cung Le
Werdum
Tyron woodley
Meisha Tate
GDR
Gegard
Masvidal
Melendez

holy shit, ufc basically lived off of strikeforce’s fighters since 10 of the fighters i listed won UFC championships. And almost all those fighters became top 10 in the UFC rankings or fought for the title. So lol @ you. Theres a reason they bought it.

I didnt mean it as a bad thing. I rate goats as A+ and champs as A or A-, so being a B is praise for them. But now that i think of it, they are B-

So you rate every WW from GSP generation as B level at best except for, I guess, GSP himself. Well, and maybe Serra
Definitely a sherbro. And you build arguments around fight finder so still a statrat. It's not necesarilly a bad thing, you might enjoy it.
