When their fat slob of a leader goes and inspects the fish and rice storage for the military its like something outa Feudal Japan.

What have they done do garner so many medals?

For the times they invaded China to steal food?

Well if Vietnam taught us anything it's 1. Do not underestimate your enemy and 2. Do not send your men into their territory on open field.

These days though it's all jets and artillery but realistically how long could Korea hold out with the size difference?

What Vietnam should have taught us is

- Don't go in half assed, with one armed tied behind your back.

The best thing Donald could do right now is get China to put a full embargo on NK. He wants to bring back coal jobs, right? Well then tell China we'll supply them with coal. It will be more expensive, but it's a small price to pay to avoid all out war.

Kim Jong Un doesn't really want war, but will go to war to keep from looking weak. Really he just wants to keep living the good life, being the God to a country of worshippers. But he wants the international community to respect him. Also, part of keeping his people complacent is continuing to build the illusion that he is strengthening the country against the evil US to hold us off. That illusion comes crashing down along with his life of luxury once we attack. So if there can be a deal we can make that will stop him from building and testing nukes, but allow both sides to save face, that would be the best solution. If not, China needs to cut them off completely. Only if those two options fail should war be an option.

Unfortunately, Trump is a child and has turned it into a dick measuring contest that will get everybody killed.

I wonder if Trump would ever nuke Pyongyang in a preemptive strike. It would show the world theres a new sheriff in town and teach China to slow down on their aggressive actions. I'd see that once word gets out that NK is firing up a launch silo, the call is made for a pre preemptive strike, the US goes in and obliterates all known silo's and launch sites with drones and air strikes.

At that same time SK invades via ground with the US playing a supporting role. Japan might also support from the sea.

fat man hunkers down in a bunker somewhere. NK is pretty much leashed within the first 72 hours.

After a week or so of ground invasion, the fat man is either found or killed by his own generals and an issue of surrender is announced. (this could be anywhere from a week to a few months...but realistically I see this being a few weeks tops)

SK begins talks of cease fire and a few months in their's talk of unification. China and the UN discuss what should be done with NK government. Off the top of my head, I could see a more pro China, but open borders NK government rising in the follow months/year.

This would play out with the speed of Iraq but without the length or need for the US to stay after the fact.

No need to go back to Vietnam for a long drawn out war, just look at Iraq and Afghanistan, although Russia could of told us messing with Afghanistan was going to be a disaster.
