How does everyone feel about the spending bill?

And then we ban Chinese imports and their economy and currency collapses

Chinese exports to the US account for like 3% of their economy, they can take the hit.

Can American companies that have supply chains in China take it though?

We had a 0% federal funds rate in 2009. It's at 1.5% right now. Under your economic planning, what's going to happen when the economy ends up like the 1980s and we need to raise the federal funds rate to 20%?

Only time it approached 20% was in 1981 when Reagan took office

The economy isn't gonna end up like that again. But if it somehow did I'd probably just have banks sell their inventory of toxic MBSs to the FED

They didn't employ quantitative easing in the 80s, but they sure as hell did in 2009 and I'd do it again if needed

someone should tell the government that just because you have money doesnt mean you have to spend it.

Lol. Trump on tv talking about how terrible the bill is but since it gives more money to the military he’s going to sign it and once again blames democrats for DACA. The same DACA he ended and ignores the fact his party controls Congress.

And he’s also going to Mar-A-Lago this weekend.

It's a bad bill nobody read - but it's the Dems fault eventhough Republicans have House and Senate majorities and eventhough Trump hasn't read it either. But that is the Dem's fault as well.

Trump had an attention seeking temper tantrum/empty threat to veto, and then signed it. The man is an incompetent toddler.

He goes with the last person to "talk" to him. He liked it last night when it was sold to him by Rep Ryan. Than he hated it this morning when Fox & Friends ripped on it, but he was back to voting for it again because he was told the next bill would be much worse because Democrats would have the power in negotiations if Trump was to blame for the shutdown.

If we were in the middle of a recession, this would be no big deal. I understand a big part of the Republican agenda is (pay lip service to?) fiscal responsibility, but increasing deficit spending when output is falling, to me, is what a fiscally responsible Republican ought to do. A fiscally responsible Democrat would also reduce deficit spending in times that we don't need it.

From introductory macro:

Output (Y) = Consumption + Investment + Government spending + Net exports (exports-imports)

When Y falls suddenly, we have deflation, unemployment, and we generally consider this unfavorable.

When Y increases suddenly, we have inflation, which is generally hard to control once it takes off.

Both of these situations are bad, and require different policy responses.

The problem is that we are at 4.1% unemployment (suggesting the economy is heating up), and output has been on the up for the last six years. So, this doesn't exactly come off as responsible.

Have the Democrats run hard on fiscal constraint and conservatism? The Republicans have.
What's that? A single example of one party doing something good and the other party doing something bad?

AAARRRGGGHHHH

You are aware that criticism can be made without bringing up the other party correct? Or can criticism only be made if the other option is perfect in every way?

The USD isn't a fiat currency. It's a commodity-backed currency and it has been for nearly 50 years now
Yes it is. It became fiat in the 70s when Nixon dropped the gold standard.
