How do you rate Jon's legacy as a Heavyweight?

GDR is bad but UFC enabled Jon to pull a 2 year GDR move lol

He finished the N2 hw in the world in round 1 cyril Gane who was hyped more than the aspinal guy. earning him a title fight. And then finished the greatest hw champion in the UFC to win the belt..


Not much else to say aspinal got an interim fight vs who? And beat blades .. and there's no good hw prospects left but Gane if Tom is good he has the easiest route to get 5 defences
 
Greatest LHW of all time who moved up and picked up a win against Gane. Great win added to the resume.

Basically the same thing GSP did, moved up and got one win. That is neat and a great accomplishment.

I don't think it hurt his legacy but it didn't do much to help it either. He was the certified Goat before even thinking of moving up to HW. Anyone else does something similar and people praise them. Jon was already so great that people feel there will always be more that he could have done,always someone new that hes ducking by retiring.

Totally worthless. His legacy is that of a paper champ who refused any legit defence then ran away to avoid one.

About all it means is he can call himself a 2 division champ on his resume for when he needs a job after he goes broke and is getting out of jail.

At HW, not much. Fought a memory and a hand-picked limited guy.
 
Gane was a very good win. Stipe fight is almost a exhibition, Stipe hadn't fought or won in 4 yrs. Jones himself didn't look good to me, but it was masked by the fact Stipe was in even greater decline

This entire thing has objectively hurt his legacy, maybe not in your eyes, but overall it has to the general public
