That's like comparing Michael Jordan to Spud Webb.
They're both black.

The average royal marine is smarter, more agile/versatile and has better in-fight experience/ endurance than the average US marine
The average royal marine is smarter, more agile/versatile and has better in-fight experience/ endurance than the average US marine and can work better in small teams. Now, there are subsections within the US marines that are on par and even better than royal marines but on average across the board? I don't think so. The US marines just have a better PR team.
Royal Marines (8,000+ total) over POG* Marines sure. But Royal Marines aren't as good as Force Recon Marines (400 total) or Marsoc Marines (3,000 total)

Yeah. The elite special forces units within the US marines i would expect to be better than your average royal marine for sure. But outside of those special forces/elite units i honestly don't think they are. But that's just an oppinion.
Source?
i'd take a lance corporal that's been to Afghanistan and Iraq who's seen combat over a seal team six guy, or SAS that hasn't
But what exactly are you basing your opinion on that U.S. Marine Corp Infantry isn't as good as the Royal Marines?
From discussions between military personel serving on either side.
No, just no. I'm sure an operator can do just fine doing a Marines job (i.e. patrolling, cordon, assault/breach, etc.)
So your dad was a Marine? That doesn't sound like any Marine I know. I hang out with active Marines at least twice a week.
"Because my dad told me and my brother in the British Military we're better" isn't a good argument.
I don't have any fantastic sources, it's just an oppinion i've built up through conversation with military types and through casual reading. My father served with the US through the 80s, brother with the british through the 00s and have had friends serve/work with both in helmand.
Don't get me wrong though. All the british soldiers/marines i know say there's nobody they'd rather fight alongside than with the americans so i'm not trying to dig at the marines at all. They're all well trained and fantastic soldiers. I'm just honestly interpreting what i've been led to believe which may or may not be the actual case.
I'm almost positive this topic has been covered a dozen times in this sub forum and it always turns into a shit storm of idiots talking out their ass with no info to go on other than what they've learned from Call of Duty.
