How did Belal beat Leon? He got lucky.

Luck is a lazy assessment.

Leon had holes in his game that got him outworked and out wrestled.

JDM did his homework, kept Belal at range, kept Belal from locking in on his hips on Td attempts, exited intelligently using angles instead of getting backed to the cage like Leon did.

Be smarter. Learn what you are watching.

Look at what Usman or Colby do after Leon fight. It's going to be clear they weren't in their prime. Belal was just a real contender. Usman almost beat Leon 3x.

Belal went in there and dumped Leon on his head to win the belt. Mean while Leon was less than a minute away from losing to Usman until the stars aligned and he landed that nasty head kick. Which one of these scenario's sounds more like luck to you?

Also, yeah. Leon has more title defenses than Belal who has zero but look who Leon fought for his defenses, a washed Colby and a declined Usman. Leon got lucky his first defenses were not legit contenders.

Leon is better than Jack De Renegela, he is a better striker, better grappler.

This is the only thing I agree with. Boxcar Jack would have lost to Leon if they kept that fight as scheduled, instead they switched opponents on him with a completely different style. Leon would have jabbed JDM's face off and has the grappling in his back pocket if needed. Styles make fights.

Nah.

JDM had great TDD and TD recovery.

Leon is happy to lay on his back.

Belal fake gloves touched Leon is round 2/3 and it was downhill from there. Leon is better than Jack De Renegela, he is a better striker, better grappler.
<WhatIsThis> better than JDM? JDM looked light years ahead of any type of performance Leon has done. Belal literally owned Leon & Leon didn't even care to fight back. One of the most disgraceful performances from a champion. Leon's hype train would've been derailed if Nate Diaz would've just finished him.

Leon has always been overrated. Nothing special in any area.

Leon isn't as good as people thought he was. The hail mary kick on Usman fooled a lot of people. His defenses against Usman and Colby didn't mean shit either because both were washed, Usman was moving like Chuck Liddell and Colby was standing there doing nothing

He said he couldn't get him down he told his corner he was too slippery he said this after round 3 or 4

The thing is, he was able to get him down in both rounds 4 and 5, I believe. I know he attempted a few in the opening rounds, but he didn’t seem as committed to the grappling until the championship rounds, when it was starting to look like Della Maddalena was going to run away with it…

Still, I don’t think it would’ve mattered in the end. Muhammad did have his moments on the ground when he got it there, but Della Maddalena was able to get back to his feet and go back to the striking before Muhammad could really take advantage…

Nah, Leon fought like Leon and Belal had a great gameplan. Belal’s team studied Leon for ages and figured him out.

It seems like Leons whole career and motivation was all just to best Usmen .. after he figured out how to beat Usmen he went down hill there was no drive in that octagon or motivation..

He was a noodle vs belal he did nothing.. was slow he wasn't in it.
Belal came with all the pressure he had and did what ever he wanted... Leon broke and gave up..

If you watch the fight I mean belal completely dominated Leon in every aspect. Like he was fighting a punching bag.

Even after wards Leon says he's not himself .. the time zone yeah he just had 0 will 0 to prove 0 motivation .. he accomplished his goal.
