No one outside of fringe morons is demanding gun confiscation, nor are they calling for bans on all weapons. It's a step towards the removal of every firearm and all you have to do is look at other countries with leftist governments doing it. A country with a strong firearms culture means you have to remove guns in small increments.

Banning semi auto rifles is the first step. Once that's done it's time to change the culture of hunting and owning bolt actions.

If woman are reliant in a male partner to support and provide for them then they are not self reliant. They're forced to endure any number of things from that partner up to and including violence against them and their children because they don't have the ability to support themselves.
