If woman are reliant in a male partner to support and provide for them then they are not self reliant. They're forced to endure any number of things from that partner up to and including violence against them and their children because they don't have the ability to support themselves. We've seen this repeatedly.

But hey they go out try to get an education and a job so they can support themselves and their children, you know actually be self reliant, and nope they are destroying families.

But it's pretty ironic that you talk about authoritarianism and traditional family units in the same breath, considering there's constant correlation between authoritarianism and stressing traditional family values. I mean that change happens on its own because better ideas come to the top by their own merits and bad ones are discarded. And when really bad ideas happen anyway, time and history eventually sort them out. I don't have to push anything because the market place of ideas works as intended. If your ideas aren't accepted, you probably should take it as an opportunity to grow through self reflection. Otherwise, you can deny reality, blame other people for not accepting your poor ideology, and continue to piss in the wind. I don't care one way or the other.

Bernie Sanders is a social democrat, center-left at best. He's not post-capitalist. That's sort of required to be considered a real leftist. But the Overton Window in this country is so far to the right that a social democrat looks like a socialist to them. smh
